About this property

This family friendly seaside holiday home for four sits at the foot of the sand dunes in Camber Sands, East Sussex and is part of a complex mixing contemporary modern design with eco-friendly technologies.

The property is set over three floors, with white walls and modern touches, creating an airy, stylish family holiday home, combining eco-friendly benefits. The heating and hot water are provided by solar panels and geothermal heat pump, grass roofs and wild, communal natural looking garden, give this property a quirky feel yet with a sense of well being.

A large games room fills the space of the ground floor, with a full size table tennis table, football table, dart board and TV with separate DVD player, making this a children’s playground, young and old. Doors lead out to a patio area with outside shower to wash away the sand from hours spent on the beautiful sandy beach, building sandcastles, just moments from the property. Ample space for storing bicycles, golf clubs and kite surfing equipment if you choose to bring them with you.

Stairs lead up to the open plan lounge/diner and galley kitchen with large french doors opening out on to a large decked balcony with outside dining and seating. The lounge has comfy seating and flatscreen TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs, making this a lovely spot to relax after a day spent on the beach or exploring the surrounding 1066 country.

From the decked balcony, shared stairs lead down to the communal garden.

Stairs lead up to the family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The twin bedroom with large windows and small turret balcony give the room a bright and spacious feel.

Stairs lead up to the master suite with ensuite shower room and your very own balcony with seating. Throw open the doors with your morning coffee and breathe in the sea air.

The beach is on your doorstep and children will love climbing the slope through the dunes to the 7 mile long sandy beach. Here you can while away the hours hunting for shells, building sandcastles, paddling the safe shallow waters or playing hide and seek in the vast dunes. The property is a great base for watersports, with Camber Kite Surfing Centre close by and Rye Watersports only a 5 minute drive away, both offer lessons so if you are tempted to try something new, there are no excuses. Local cycle routes can be picked up close by and it is a lovely way to explore Romney Marsh through quiet country lanes or take the off road path all the way to Rye and leave the car behind.

Mizpah offers a great family friendly holiday home whatever the season.

Camber and beyond

The Sussex village of Camber has much to offer, with its beautiful sandy beach which stretches for miles and safe bathing. The village has various small shops, a Post Office, two pubs, a wine bar and The Gallivant restaurant. A variety of activities can be enjoyed including kite surfing, kite buggying, surfing, land yachting, horse riding, fishing, as well as numerous other activities both on the beach and nearby, including the wildlife havens at Dungeness and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Water sports are taught at Rye Water Sports lake, which is only one mile away.

The medieval town of Rye is about 3 miles away. There you can visit the Heritage Centre where you can watch the Town model's ' Sound and Light' show, which goes into detail about the history and the colourful past of Rye and it's inhabitants. Or amble around the many antique shops in the Strand Quay and hunt out a bargain!

The town of Winchelsea is a ten minute drive away and, like Rye, has a rich history and links to the days of smugglers. One of the many cellar tours that take place during the year is a worthy visit and a chance to see parts of the town that are not normally on show. With far reaching views over the marshes and out to sea, it really is a pleasant way to spend a few hours, and the delightful tea room is a great place to stop for refreshments.

Just ten minutes drive away is the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where you can walk along the sea wall and out on to the marshes to enjoy the flora and fauna. You can choose to walk out to Camber Castle, originally located on a shingle spit and where once it protected the towns of Rye and Winchelsea before the sea receded. Although no longer open to visitors, it is still a striking landmark worth a visit. Or visit the rock pools at low tide on the pebbly beach at Pett Level, just a ten minute drive from Rye.

The towns of Hastings and Ashford are around a thirty minute drive, and here you can get mainline trains to London if you wish to explore the capital for a day. If you would like to take a day trip to the continent, the Eurostar can be picked up from Ashford International station and trains to Paris, Lille and Brugges are available. Alternatively, the ferries run from Dover, just 45 minutes away or the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, a 45 minute drive.
