About this property

Steeped in history, this stunning Grade II listed house is the perfect seaside retreat for those looking to stay somewhere special. Located in Rottingdean, just 4 miles east of bustling Brighton.

Steeped in history, Prospect Cottage is a stunning Grade II Listed house in the pretty village of Rottingdean just 4 miles east of Brighton. Holiday home to the celebrated Victorian artist Edward Burne-Jones in the late 19th century, this cherished 3 bedroom family home has welcomed many famous faces through its front door including the much loved author Rudyard Kipling.

Prospect Cottage is a picturesque escape and has retained many of its original features - including its Victorian Thunderbox toilet! Located on The Green across from the pretty Rottingdean pond (with resident ducks) and the colourful Kipling Gardens the house is the perfect base from which to get out and explore. A short stroll away you have five traditional pubs, cosy tea-rooms, family friendly pebbled beaches, and the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. Brighton city centre, with its infamous seaside attractions, is easily reached by a regular bus service which operates at the end of the road. A stay at Prospect Cottage will certainly be one to remember! Coast: 0.3 miles, Shop: 0.1 miles, Pub: 0.1 miles, Central Brighton: 4 miles
