About this property

A great garden level Hove apartment near the beach and amenities with a shepherd's hut for extra sleeping capacity!

This spacious and well appointed apartment is situated within a generously proportioned terraced building dating from the early 20th Century. It sits on the east side of a tree lined avenue just 200 metres from the seafront, and is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops in central Hove.

The Beach Hut Apartment occupies the garden floor of the building, with doors from the sitting room onto a sheltered terrace with built in barbecue and seating area. Beyond the terrace is the garden containing the shepherd’s hut which provides sleeping accommodation for two people all year round. It is well insulated and has underfloor heating for the colder months of the year. Those sleeping in the shepherd's hut need to bear in mind that the bathroom is in the apartment, and they may need to cross the garden in the dark to get to it.

Inside the apartment there are two bedrooms each with a zip linked bed that can be set up as either twin beds or a king sized bed. Please let us know when you book the apartment how you would like the beds to be configured. The bedroom at the front of the apartment also contains a day bed which can sleep a small adult or a child. This bedroom also has an ensuite shower room. The other bedroom also has a bed which can be zipped together to form a king sized bed, or separated into two twin beds. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath for the use of the sleepers in the rear bedroom and the shepherd’s hut.

The living space is open plan, with a contemporary seating area, a large dining table and a coolly elegant black and white kitchen. The kitchen has a double oven and five burner gas hob if you plan to go to town over a meal cooked at home during your holiday. Don’t worry too much about the washing up, as there is also a dishwasher.

Parking is available on the road using parking vouchers and is charged at either £5 per day or £25 per week. These parking vouchers need to be purchased in advance, please let us know if you wish to add this onto your booking. Alternatively there is a public pay and display car park opposite Hove Town Hall where the daily rate is approximately £5.20.

Hove and beyond

Some argue Hove is the posh part of Brighton but we certainly would not want to be drawn on that one! As a city Brighton and Hove come together. The wide and pleasant promenade of Hove is always full of activity from walkers to cyclists, families and friends playing ball games on the green, to the many who choose to relax in front of their colourful beach huts. The beach is certainly that little quieter here than neighbouring Brighton yet the walk between the two is seamless. Hove has its own centre, is the home of the Sussex county cricket ground, a short walk from the apartment and offers a wide choice of independent shops and restaurants.

Overall Brighton and Hove is one of the most vibrant, colourful and creative cities you will find. It is cosmopolitan, compact, and energetic - it's a city like no other.

Nestling between the South Downs and the sea on the stunning south coast, Brighton offers everything from Regency heritage to beachfront cool. It offers a fantastic mix of iconic attractions, famed nightlife, award winning restaurants, funky arts, culture and year round festivals and events. Its two most famous attractions are probably the Royal Pavilion, the spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV) and ‘Brighton Pier' with its Victorian history and period and modern entertainment. The centre of Brighton is less than two miles from the Beach Hut Apartment.

Close by the famous ‘Lanes' historic quarter is an intricate maze of twisting alleyways, offering an extraordinary mix of history and heritage lingering amidst the antique, jewellery, boutique fashion and design shops.

A recent addition on the shoreline and right next to both the pier and the Sea Life Centre is the Brighton Ferris Wheel. A trip on the 45 metre (197 foot) wheel is a must, offering fabulous views over the city and beyond to the South Downs as well as a great outlook along the coast especially towards Rottingdean and Beachy Head.

The South Downs provide a magnificent backdrop to Hove and in the summer can easily be reached by bus from Brighton Pier.

Devil's Dyke is one of the famous landmarks on the South Downs Way and although the Dyke is actually a V shaped valley the tourist attraction that bears its name at the top offers outstanding views across the Sussex Weald and westwards along the line of the Downs towards Truleigh Hill and Chanctonbury Ring. It is an area that is popular with both hang gliders and para gliders so is often buzzing with activity.

My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay at The Beach Hut Apartment and it made preparations for my wedding so much easier. The owner was very helpful and the property was lovely.
