About this property

... a mile from Luxborough, a pretty and very private, semi-detached, 18th cent. cottage in a lovely setting on the banks of a stream that runs to the Washford River meandering through the magnificently wooded Brendon Hills down to Watchet. Lots of wild garden along the riverbank (small children beware); plenty of pheasants and sometimes deer.

Path down over the lawn to French windows into fitted kitchen/dining room with washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer. Spacious living room with beams and big inglenook (woodburner which runs central heating, logs included), VDU/DVD/video (no TV reception) and videos. Wood floors (rugs) downstairs, carpeted upstairs. Stairs up to three bedrooms – a bunk room (3' beds), and a twin which leads through to a double (iron bedstead) with en suite loo and windows on three sides. Bathroom (suite, shower over bath). A very lovely place for peace and relaxation.

"We booked the cottage in order to attend a family funeral even so it felt as though we had been on holiday such was the magic of the place. The caretaker had left milk tea and coffee which was welcome. Also the lady who helped me find a suitable cottage could not have been more helpful. Thank you."
