About this property

Set within Exmoor National Park, this cottage is ideally located to explore both Somerset and Devon, with beaches, attractions and National Trust properties close by.
S90708 is situated right in the heart of Dulverton, which has a good range of shops, pubs and tea rooms. Close to this semi-detached cottage, there is plenty of walking into the surrounding countryside and up to Exmoor National Park. Visit Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon and the pretty moorland village of Withypool. Further afield, there is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path, or the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (National Trust), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway, are also worth a visit. The resort of Minehead has a promenade, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit to the medieval village of Dunster, with its castle (National Trust), beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, will make for an interesting day out. Watchet, Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area, and there are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Fishing is available within 3 miles of S90708. Dulverton is very popular for fishing and has its own angling club, as well as a fishing shop in the high street. Only 2 miles away is a fishery, which is one of the local places to fish and is open all year round. Wimbleball Lake is only 5 miles away and has trout and coarse fishing. You can also book fishing lessons here. There is a wide range of fishing available, including, fly fishing, salmon fishing and coarse fishing. All fishing requires day tickets, which can be purchased from the fisheries. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

"In spite of wet weather we had a very enjoyable week in S90708. The log fire was well used and easy to light! The accommodation was spacious , nicely furnished and equipped and having two bathrooms plus a downstairs loo was a bonus. Being in the village was convenient for shopping and eating out , with everything being within walking distance."

"Lovely, comfortable cottage. In the centre of a village that has good pubs and shops. No off street parking but that didn’t seem to matter- although we weren’t there in the summer season. Owners left goodies and helpful instructions for local walking. We had a lovely few days away."

"S90708 was an ideal place to stay for visiting the Exmoor area. It was furnished and decorated to a high standard with good quality kitchen equipment. The large open plan lower floor was a great family space with very good furnishings. On the upper floor were two spacious and comfortable bedrooms with two bathrooms. The enclosed garden is a few steps away along a passage from the back door and, although overlooked by adjacent properties, proved to be a great sun trap with picnic table, benches and sun umbrella. There is no designated parking and although we found no problem finding on-street parking, it might be that this could be a disadvantage (the only one that we could see!). It is obvious that the owners have thought of the needs of their guests and provided all that could be expected, even the welcome basket and doggy towels."

"A lovely warm, welcoming cottage, immaculately presented throughout with everything you need & more. Tastefully decorated & reflecting it's location on the edge of Exmoor. Conveniently positioned in the centre of Dulverton making it easy to go out to the fantastic Woods restaurant & the lovely cafes & shops as well as easy access to Exmoor & the coast. We looked forward to coming back to the cosy, homely cottage after a long day out on the moors. We had a great few days here & didn't want to leave, we'll definitely be back, thank you."

"Well, what can I say other than this cottage was beautiful! We stayed for a weekend with our son and the dog and this cottage contains everything you could need for children and our furry friends 🐶 It’s beautifully decorated with tasteful, nice quality stuff and the attention taken to its cleanliness was impressive. We tried some of the dog walks recommended by Wesley (their dog I believe) and they were great... it was good to have inside advice on where is good to go with dogs. We stayed just on the verge of the Polar Vortex take 2 so this cottage kept us warm and cosy!If you are looking at this cottage and wondering whether to book or not, just do it because I can honestly say you won’t be disappointed! Will definately be booking again."

"What a super place to stay. S90708 was immaculately presented with everything you could possibly want, and more, provided. Dulverton is a very welcoming and friendly town where shops/eating establishments ensure that you don't really need to go elsewhere on a short break on Exmoor. If you have a dog there are some really good walks from the cottage."
