About this property

… about a mile from South Petherton in the smaller village of East Lambrook (pub, manor house gardens with snowdrop and national geranium collections, plant nursery, tea room, gallery), a neat, detached cottage, thoughtfully converted from stable buildings with big arched windows and beams. Across the gravelled drive, the owners’ charming 17th cent., Grade II listed, thatched farmhouse and beautifully planted walled garden where you have a sitting-out area (table/chairs) and, a little further along the drive, use of an orchard for picnicking (picnic bench).

From drive (sunny bench, occasional horses passing), 2 steps up to arched doors to smartly fitted oak kitchen (slimline dishwasherwasher-driermicrowave, gas hob/electric oven) with slate floor and breakfast table/chairs. Study/dining room. Oak-floored living room (TV/DVD) with lovely old Knole sofa. Stairs up to a roomy double bedroom (5’ bedstead) furnished with fine period fabrics; bathroom (suite with roll-top bath and separate shower). No children, except pre-crawling babies. A stylish, comfortable base, well placed for numerous houses, gardens and churches of interest.

"One of the most beautiful cottages we have stayed, no expense spared, the design and quality of the furnishings are very high. Location was peaceful but very accessible for touring the area, lots of nice eating places close by, would return without hesitation."

"This was a superbly appointed, extremely tastefully and comfortably furnished cottage which was a joy to spend time in. Set in beautiful, quiet natural surroundings with lots of lovely planting. A lot of care has gone into this cottage. Idyllic."
