Renovated in 2015 the house is overflowing with interesting furniture and stylish fittings. Painted white wooden floors, a magnificent four poster carved wooden bed and even a baby grand piano adds to Pound Cottage’s charm and don’t forget the hot tub, plus snooker and magnificent games room. Adjacent to the main house is an annexe sleeping up to 6 guests and games den to die for, with full size snooker table, Chesterfield leather sofa’s and bar area including a beer fridge. Most bedrooms can be either twins or doubles affording flexibility that is sure to meet the requirements of all groups, young or old. With 400 thread count cotton bed linen on all beds – a comfortable night’s sleep is assured.

The farmhouse-style kitchen is warm and welcoming room, the dining room has a huge fireplace and log burner plus a handmade table seating 16/18 that will be the venue for many a meal to remember. The kitchen is very well equipped with ice maker and large American style fridge.

The main sitting room and features a magnificent 18th Century French tapestry as well as comfortable sofas and chairs for cosy evenings in. The TV room features a huge flat screen TV and window seat that looks onto the idyllic gardens. Mind your head though, low ceilings and doorways are all part of Pound Cottage’s charm.

The enclosed garden is beautifully maintained, and includes a croquet lawn, badminton area, vegetable garden and many interesting nooks and crannies as well as hidden paths for the young at heart to run and play. We’re sure the hot tub will attract guests year round and the terrace area is a suntrap in the summer for barbecues and aperitifs together with further raised paved patios and terraces for alfresco eating.

From rustic charm to luxurious touches, Pound Cottage has been lovingly updated creating a peaceful atmosphere in which to truly unwind. On the outskirts (half a mile) of the bustling town of Langport with lovely walks from the house, this is a fabulous base to explore Somerset.

Entrance hall with WC

Kitchen: American style fridge freezer with ice machine, microwave, gas hob and large range style cooker, commercial dishwasher, door to rear terrace and garden. Pantry. Washing machine and Dryer.

Music room: Baby grand piano, stairs lead to first floor from this room. 3 steps down to bedroom 1.

Bedroom 1 (sleeps 2) Emperor sized double bed. Can be made into 2 singles. Ensuite shower room (1 step down) with WC. 

Dining Room: Large table for up to 16/18 guests, log burner, feature fireplace.

Sitting Room: Large sofa’s and chairs, triple aspect room. 

TV room: Large flat screen TV (Freeview). Note there is low headroom in this room.
Narrow stairs lead from TV room to the first floor. First floor also accessed via stairs from the music room.
First Floor
Bedroom 2 (sleeps 2) Standard double bed.

Shower room: Wet room with good quality shower and WC.

Bedroom 3 (sleeps 2/4) Zip link super king size double bed. Can be made into 2 x singles. Sofa bed can sleep another 2.

Bedroom 4 (sleeps 2) King Size double four poster wooden bed. There is a narrow and very low door that links this room with bedroom 5.

Bedroom 5 (sleeps 2) Emperor sized double bed. Can be made into 2 singles.  

Bathroom for exclusive use of bedroom 5: Roll top bath, WC. Separate shower. 
Separate Annexe

Large games room with leather sofas, darts board, snooker table, bar area, WC and doors to croquet lawn. 

First floor can be additionally rented, please see Pound Cottage and Annexe if you wish to reserve further bedrooms.
