A very pretty Grade II listed thatched self catering cottage in the ancient village of Hinton St George in Somerset. The property was once owned by the Oxford University, hence the name.

This quaint, pretty cottage is a perfect place to take a break. If the sun is shining, relax in the two tier garden with the grass beneath your feet or at the garden table with a glass of wine. As the night descends, cosy up in the sitting room with a good book.

Take a walk to the village pub, the Lord Poulett Arms which has real ale and excellent food (booking is always recommended). A short walk away is the thriving village shop where you will be able to find all your basic necessities.

In the neighbouring town of Crewkerne (3 miles away) with its Neo-Georgian architecture and honey coloured buildings discover a wealth of cafes and independent shops. A little further afield (10 miles away) you will find the town of Yeovil where you can wander around the outdoor markets in the town centre on Tuesdays and Fridays or simply enjoy a lazy lunch in one of the many pubs and restaurants.

Within a 45 minute drive lies the town of Axminster, where you will discover River Cottage or one of the River Cottage Canteens to fill up on a mouth-watering breakfast, lunch or dinner along with a delectable deli.

Blackdown Hills is within an hour’s drive where you will find an abundance of lovely walks, interspersed with historical, heritage sites dating back from The Iron Age.
