The cottage is situated near to Chard, just five miles away which has a wide variety of shops and the town has many interesting buildings and is well served with places to eat and drink. The Jurassic Coastline is easily accessible by car and the popular beaches of Charmouth and Lyme Regis are within half an hour’s drive.
For a selection of shops, restaurants and pubs head to Taunton, only twelve miles away. The town is proud of its beautiful gardens to explore and the impressive 12th century castle with an interesting history.

The Payne Girls
We said we’d come back in the spring …. but it wasn’t warm enough to sit outside! Never mind, we still love this house. First thing we saw on arrival was a couple of deer, so we started a new list of wildlife on the kitchen board. Despite the weather we’ve had a lovely stay, and we’ll be back again! Thanks for topping up the logs – we needed them!!

The Bathfields + Hendry’s
Lovely Easter break. Nice warm cozy house, great considering it is Easter and still freezing. We enjoyed walking around the farm & exploring Somerset + Exmoor. We had a fun day on the steam train (Great South Western) and had a lovely time exploring Dunster. It was nice to stay in such a well-equipped house. We enjoyed cooking lovely meals and sitting at the table as a family for dinner. Thanks (and great) to have use of the baby gear!

Wow! What a fantastic cottage and a wonderful location. We had an excellent Christmas and hope for a return visit in the summer.
