Mallard Cottage is a two bedroom cottage set on the Lakeview resort in Somerset, and it’s the perfect home from home for that family break in the countryside you’ve been meaning to take.

The chic design of the kitchen, dining and living rooms gives this contemporary area a bright, airy feel, and you’ll be able to catch up on the days’ adventures over a relaxed family meal before retreating to the living space for some time out together.

On warmer days, step out from the living area and into the communal garden to take in the peace and quiet or watch the kids enjoying the Great Outdoors. And when the weather’s cooler, the flame effect electric fire flickers peacefully, creating a cosy backdrop to that family DVD.

When it’s time for bed, the master bedroom’s been designed with indulgence in mind, and the king size bed beckons while you watch the sun set behind the lake from your private Juliet balcony. Bliss. If the sight of the lake inspires you to make time for a spot of fishing, anglers with valid rod licences are welcome to make the most of the site’s private fishing lake.
