Built in 1866 and set in a converted chapel whilch maintains its spectacular period features, The Sanctuary offers a unique and quirky setting to relax and unwind. Filled with antique furniture, this really is a special setting for your holiday.

Inside, you’ll be welcomed into the warm living area with a high vaulted ceiling and spectacular stained glass window.  With a traditional log burner, this grand space will be cosy and warm throughout the year. For a get together between families or friends, there is a grand dining area with an antique table in the garden room, or for a more casual bite to eat, the well equipped kitchen has a breakfast table. The equally charming bedrooms also have original stained glass mullion windows and vaulted ceilings, the perfect spaces for resting your head and admiring the rich history of the chapel.

Outside, there is a pretty garden with a veranda and table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a meal or a barbeque on those relaxed, sunny afternoons.

Set in the quaint village of Mark, The Sanctuary is ideally situated for getting to know Somerset. Cheddar with its fascinating gorge is just three miles away, and the traditional market town of Wells is within easy reach. For a day at the seaside, why not venture further afield to Weston-Super-Mare for a portion of fish and chips?
