Wellfield Cottage is a two bedroom property built in the grounds of Wellfield Farm in open countryside with views across to Brent Knoll - an outcrop on the Mendip Hills. Walkers who venture up it are rewarded with superb views of the Polden Hills to the south, Glastonbury Tor to the east, the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge to the north east, the Bristol Channel and Wales to the west and the Quantock Hills to the south west. Private parking on the gravelled, gated driveway within the enclosed garden makes this perfect for families and safe for pets. It can also cater for disabled guests, with good access and walk-in shower. Patio doors lead you into spacious lounge area with two sofas and dining area to enjoy a meal cooked in the kitchen which has everything required for a wonderful holiday experience if you don’t want to walk to either of the local pubs. The hall leads to a cloakroom with toilet and basin and on to the double bedroom which has jack and jill bathroom with walk in shower, wc and sink making this accessible for disabled guests. The spacious twin room can be accessed from the lounge or an interconnecting door to the double bedroom making it perfect for a family with young children. There is also a cot and highchair available on request. This holiday home is perfectly situated in the Somerset village of Mark, which lies not far from Bridgwater or Axbridge, and just 4 miles from the market town of Highbridge in the Sedgemoor district of the county of Somerset. A must for walkers is Brean Down, a promontory of the Mendips Hills extending out into the Bristol Channel at with views over to the two small islands of Steep Holm and Flat Holm. Children will love Brean water park and fun city park or the Somerset coastline with Burnham-on-Sea and with its golden beaches and traditional donkey rides. A few minutes drive will take you to the M5 giving unrestricted access to an abundance of day trips. Cheddar with it’s famous gorge, Wells with it’s beautiful cathedral, Wookey Hole and it’s renowned caves, Glastonbury and Street for those looking for a designer bargain at Clarks Village. Longleat Safari Park, Bath and Bristol are all under an hour so provide perfect choice for day trips. Who could ask for more from a truly memorable holiday.
Highbridge is a town on the edge of the Somerset Levels, two miles from Burnham on Sea. Highbridge is a location from which to explore Somerset with its culture and history. Explore the Somerset Levels and enjoy the pubs along the way, and there's walks in the Quantock and Mendip Hills, or along the coastal paths, plus this area has top class golf courses. Within driving distance are the Willows and Wetlands Visitor Centre and the caves of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, plus the historic Wells Cathedral in England’s smallest city is well worth a visit. There is something for everyone in this part of Somerset.
