The Mendips rise directly behind with good walks up to Crook Peak and fine views over the levels. Surrounding it, a large, enclosed lawned garden, croquet lawn (mallets provided), children’s adventure playground, trampoline, outdoor heated swimming pool (available 22 May to 11 September) and all-weather hard tennis court. Games room (pool table, darts, table football, Wii, iPod dock, TV/Sky/DVD/Blu-ray). Entrance hall (for coats/boots); loo. Big open-plan kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, tepanyaki griddle, two cookers, induction hob) with huge table/chairs and big French windows to the terrace; off this, utility room (washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher), another hall and loo. Large living room with big sofas and open fire, TV/Sky/DVD and French windows to the terrace. Sitting room with open fire, TV/DVD and more French windows to the terrace.

Upstairs, four bedrooms, all with good views – the master double with dressing room, en suite shower-room (suite) and balcony; a double (5’ bed with footboard) with en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower); another double; and a twin; bathroom (suite with separate shower).

At the rear of the house is a smart annexe: hall and two double bedrooms (TVs), one with en suite bathroom (suite) and the other with en suite shower-room (wet-room suite).

Sleeps maximum of 12, including babies. Arrival after 5pm. Damages Deposit £500. A great house in a wonderful setting.
