This pretty, semi-detached Georgian cottage is superbly situated on the edge of the village of Cheddar, within walking distance of the largest gorge in Britain. With beams, exposed stone walls and an inglenook fireplace, Strawberry Rose Cottage combines chic style with character features. Ideal for couples and families exploring this unique region, the sitting room has wooden beams, a stone fireplace with woodburner and a large TV, making it a comfortable room for relaxing in after a day’s walking or exploring. There is a cosy ground floor bedroom with a small double bed and en-suite shower room, while the two first floor bedrooms with vaulted ceilings share a bathroom. At the rear of the cottage is a path leading to a sunny enclosed decked garden, a perfect place to unwind. A very short walk leads to Cheddar Gorge, where you’ll find organised activities including a bus tour, lookout tower, underground caves and rock climbing. The cottage is on a footpath which leads to the top of Cheddar Gorge from where you can access many other footpaths and enjoy spectacular views, as well as being a great place to walk the dogs. There are plenty of fascinating places to visit in the area including the cathedral city of Wells, the mystical town of Glastonbury and the glorious bird reserves on the Somerset Levels. Plus for any overseas guests, Bristol Airport is only 15 minutes drive away. A stay in this popular area is sure to provide a fascinating holiday.

The village gave its name to Cheddar cheese and has been a centre for strawberry growing, the crop being transported on the railway, now a fabulous cycle path. Wells, Glastonbury and the scenic Somerset coast and Exmoor National Park are all easily accessible, truly spoiling you for choice of how to spend your holiday!
