Bridgwater is a lovely historic town home to many local attractions, including Blake Museum which has exhibits on Bridgwater history, archaeology and naval commander Robert Blake in a 16th century home. Also nearby is Hestercombe House, a historic country house in the Quantock Hills. The house is Grade II listed building and the estate is Grade I listed on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. Little Dixie is the perfect spot for those interested in historical landmarks.

Bridgwater is a large historic market town and civil parish in Somerset. The town lies along both sides of the River Parrett, and has been a major in-land port and trading centre since the industrial revolution. Notable buildings include the Church of St Mary and the house in Blake Street, largely restored, which was the birthplace of Admiral Blake in 1598, and is now the Blake Museum. The town has an arts centre and plays host to the annual Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival.
