Blackbird Lodge is set within a development of contemporary eco-lodges at Strawberryfield Park, nestled on the fringe of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the perfect setting to enjoy tranquil countryside views.
Internally, Blackbird Lodge has an ultra-modern look and is furnished to the highest standard throughout. The spacious living areas are made to feel bright and airy with the large windows and glass doors providing ample natural light. On the colder evenings, warm yourself up using the state of the art wood burning stove - perfect for a cozy winter break.
Externally, the lodge features a private decked area complete with a hot tub. This is a wonderful spot to sit in the afternoon sunshine with lunch, or simply relax in the hot tub after a day of exploring the local area.
Strawberryfield Park is perfectly positioned for exploring everything Somerset has to offer. The historic City of Wells is within easy reach, famous for its Cathedral, Bishops Place and Market Square along with the beautiful City of Bath. Also near by is Cheddar Gorge, the gorge is the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be over 9,000 years old was found in 1903. You'll also be a short drive away from Wookey Hole Caves and Longleat House and Safari Park. For those looking to make the most of the sun, you can also escape to the coast in next to no time at all with Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea both close by. With all these brilliant places on your doorstep you'll never be short on things to do.

...Just a couple of little pointers, the knives could do with a good sharpen as very blunt and the hot tub could of been maintained better - it had a bit of an odour on our second night- usually when we have lodges with hot tubs, they are maintained daily! Went to the cider barn for the live music on the Sunday afternoon which was very good and prices of drinks reasonable. Will definitely stay again! Submitted by Sally on 07/12/2016

...stayed at Strawberryfields park, Draycott near Cheddar. We were welcomed by the owners on arrival who had kindly left us a welcome basket in our kitchen. The lodge was superb and spotless and provided us the perfect base for our holiday. The two ensuite bathrooms were a bonus! ...Lodge in Cheddar. The accommodation was first class, the fixtures, furnishings, decor, tableware was all top notch - couldn't fault any of it. There was a lovely complimentary basket of treats to welcome us, Mike the site manager was very helpful and responsive with anything we needed. The location was perfect for us. Lovely walk into Cheddar up and down the hills through the picturesque setting, and after walking all day the soak in the wonderfully warm hot tub at our lodge was very welcomed. There is a cider barn on site, the staff and clientele are so friendly and welcoming, you can sit there in the evening as it's a perfect setting to watch the sun set.
