Nearby Nesscliffe village has a popular 15th century inn and a country park, ideal for energetic walks or bike rides, whilst the scenic Severn Way Walk is not far away. More wonderful walking can be enjoyed in the Shropshire Hills around Church Stretton, known as Little Switzerland, and the area offers excellent days out to medieval Shrewsbury, beautiful Ludlow, the market town of Oswestry and the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. Also take some time to visit Stokesay Castle, Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, Wroxeter Roman ruins, the Severn Valley Railway, and the Welsh border is close by.
