About this property

A luxurious, detached barn conversion in the grounds of the owner's working farm, surrounded by unspoilt Shropshire countryside and with all of the seasonal activity that farming has to offer. This fabulous contemporary holiday cottage offers flexible family accommodation to suit all group types and is an ideal base for touring this beautiful part of the country. The central spacious hallway leads to a large well-equipped kitchen complete with contemporary furnishings and folding doors to the patio area, while on the other side of the hall is a light and airy sitting room with a warming woodburning stove. The first floor offers two sumptuous en-suite double bedrooms that can be twin bedrooms on request. There is also a single bed on the landing which benefits from a curtain that can be drawn across for privacy and there is also a Velux window that ensures lots of light in this area. Outside is a private, fenced patio area, overlooking the owner's fields, a lovely place to sit, relax and enjoy a good book or alfresco dining on a summer's evening. Why not make use of the owner's tennis court if you take your own racquets and balls? The surrounding area offers many lovely walks, including Jack Mytton Way, which is accessed from the cottage via a bridleway, and Shropshire Way as well as cycle trails, horseback riding, golf and fishing. The pretty market towns of Church Stretton and Much Wenlock are also close by. A superb cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

The rural hamlet of Wall-under-Heywood is near to the pretty village of Cardington, which lies at the foot of Caradoc and Lawley Hills amongst the rolling hills of the South Shropshire countryside. Cardington boasts the oldest pub in Shropshire - The Royal Oak, mentioned in the Domesday Book! Its rural situation is ideal for sightseeing, with miles of country walks in all directions, not to mention the beautiful Shropshire hills - a draw for walkers, riders and nature lovers alike.
