About this property

An attractive, detached, brick-built cottage, only 10 minutes' walk from the heart of Ludlow's famous medieval town centre. Completely renovated to provide high quality, contemporary accommodation, this cottage is ideal for a family holiday or a romantic break. There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom, a stylish kitchen and a cosy sitting room, while the enclosed patio is the ideal spot for an evening drink. The fascinating town of Ludlow is home to a wonderful 11th Century castle, as well as renowned shops, pubs and restaurants. This is a superb base for enjoying one of Britain's most beautiful towns and its surrounding area. Nearby attractions are wide-ranging and plentiful and include Stokesay Castle, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, Acton Scott Historic Farm, the wonderful Long Mynd and Caradoc Hills above Church Stretton, not to mention the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, the Severn Valley Railway and fantastic days out in medieval Shrewsbury and Hereford. An ideal cottage to be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Situated on the River Teme amongst the countryside of the Welsh Marches is the market town of Ludlow. With nearly 500 listed buildings, Ludlow's medieval street pattern remains almost intact, providing a unique backdrop for the town's street markets. These events take place beneath the impressive castle and showcase a range of local goods - from cheeses and fresh produce to books and crafts. Ludlow is renowned for its shopping, with a number of high quality antique and craft shops, along with several Michelin-starred restaurants, numerous tea-shops and pubs. The castle itself is over 900 years old and the Linney Riverside Park provides boat hire, a putting green and children's play area. Ludlow is within easy reach of Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as popular attractions such as Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway and Berrington Hall.

Even included dishwasher tablets and washing liquid. The living room is small but cosy & warm with reclining sofas but the best part is the huge kitchen with a lovely big table where we could all eat together and play board games & cards (a selection were even provided). Large fridge with good size freezer too. Bedrooms were comfy and having a downstairs loo was very handy. Phil was an exceptional host, always on hand if we needed anything. Only a 10 minute walk into Ludlow which is a beautiful town. Parking available for 3 cars that close to town is very rare. The only downside we had was continous rain but no on can be blamed for that. We had such a lovely holiday and I really didn't want to leave. If we visit Ludlow again we will definitely try to book Manor Cottage.

It is clean and well equipped and very well positioned for visiting Ludlow and the wider Shropshire and Herefordshire area. Pluses: comfy sofas, good lighting, warm bedding, good kitchen equipment, hairdryer provided. Parking was straightforward, not too tight. Suggestions: single bed mattress not brilliant. Towels are provided but a hand towel in the downstairs toilet would be good.
