About this property

Bridgnorth 2.5 miles. This beautiful, Scandinavian-style redwood lodge is located on a small exclusive development, close to the bustling market town of Bridgnorth. Providing light and airy accommodation throughout, this lovely lodge makes an ideal base for a break with family and friends. There are six external steps up to the lodge and then, once inside, it is set over the ground floor. The small entrance hall is ideal for storing walking gear and leads to the pleasant, open plan living accommodation, complete with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating around an electric woodburning stove. The dining area seats all guests, making it ideal for a celebratory dinner, or breakfast while you plan the day. There are three bedrooms, two twin rooms and a master with the added benefit of Jack-and-Jill access to the shower room, along with a main family bathroom. Outside, to the front of the lodge, is an enclosed decked veranda with furniture, perfect for relaxing and taking in the peace and tranquillity. The surrounding area offers an abundance of activities, including golf at Astbury Hall, local trout and course fishing, cycle routes, horse riding and sailing, to name just a few. Many lovely walks can be enjoyed from the property, with the Severn Way and Jack Mytton Way both close by. Enjoy National Trust properties, the Severn Valley Railway, Ironbridge and the lovely market town of Bridgnorth. A lovely lodge for a memorable holiday, at any time of year.

Bridgnorth is an interesting market town of two distinct halves separated by a red sandtone ridge - The High Town and the Low Town. The two halves are linked by meandering streets and steep steps, and the sheer funicular railway allows visitors to glimpse "the finest view in all my kingdom", as Charles I put it. There is a lively Saturday market which showcases the local fayre, and the River Severn which flows beneath the precipitous castle ruins offers many lovely walks. The steam and diesel engines of the Severn Valley Railway run between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster through pretty country stations. Bridgnorth is surrounded by an abundance of country parks, historic houses, interesting museums and chocolate box Shropshire villages, and also affords ease of access to the 10 museums of Ironbridge Gorge and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford. The vibrant destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton are within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers its visitor superb walking and cycling opportunities.

Cobwebs above bathroom sink. Initially there were a couple of hairs on "clean' sheets. Some of the TripAdvisor comments are accurate unfortunately. The lodge is in a lovely location, really peaceful. No shop or pub within a mile.

Lodge is comfortable with care and considerate to furnishing etc. Should consider bedroom carpets now in need of a deep clean - whilst not the owners fault (where guests do not take off shoes ) , it does unfortunately affect the overall impression of the property.
