    About this property

An attractive mid-terrace cottage, tucked away in a quiet position in the centre of the popular resort of Marske-by-the-Sea. Offering traditional accommodation, this Marske cottage is ideal for families wanting to enjoy a seaside holiday but with easy access to beautiful countryside and numerous local attractions. Warm and welcoming, this Marske cottage has a comfortable sitting room with a feature cast iron fireplace, and a modern kitchen with dining area. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom, a small twin room and a fully tiled shower room. A short stroll from this Marske cottage brings you to a lovely sandy beach with sand dunes and fishing boats, whilst the centre provides an array of shops and pubs. Why not visit Captain Cook's birthplace or enjoy the Zetland Lifeboat Museum and the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum at Skinningrove? Three miles up the coast lies the old spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, with its renowned pier and historic cliff lift, whilst the small, pretty fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay lie to the south. With the scenic North York Moors and the dramatic heritage coastline to discover, this Marske cottage provides an excellent base for a family holiday.

The small, bustling coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea was originally a fishing village and now offers shops, pubs, a long, wide sandy beaches, dunes and a harbour. Maritime attractions in the area are plentiful, such as the birthplace of Captain Cook and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. For those more interested in the region's industrial past the Mining Museum is also close by and provides an insight into what life was like in Yorkshire during the industrial revolution. Close to the stunning scenery of the North York Moors and the old spa town of Saltburn, this wonderful spot has something for everyone to enjoy.

"The seats in both toilets were loose. The doors upstairs could do with painting to smarten them up. Reception on TV was very poor and at certain times of day couldn’t watch it. The biggest problem however was the lack of WiFi. We didn’t want a telephone only a router to connect to the internet. We were houehunting but couldn’t find out any of the information we needed and this was a real pain."

"We really enjoyed our three week stay at Yeoman Terrace in May of this year. It's a sweet little cottage, just perfect for two, three or four people! Great bathroom and shower, lovely little kitchen and eating area, cosy lounge. Parking is available on a back street, quite conveniently close to the cottage. Beautifully quiet yet walking distance to several very good pubs. Highly recommended! My only caveat is that there is absolutely no internet access. This is not the fault of the proprietors, but the house and indeed most of Marske seems to fall in an internet black spot, so that even mobile phones can't access it. If this doesn't matter to you, than this cosy, clean little self-catering house is perfect for you!"

"A very cosy and well equipped accommodation that was spotlessly clean. Ideally located for all local amenities and a few minutes walk takes you to the beach. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. "

"We stayed at yeoman cottage for 2 weeks in January and have to say we had a lovely time The cottage was warm, welcoming and spotless and a joy to stay in would recommend it to everyone One of the nice things about it was a full size freezer and washer which makes life a lot easier The only think I can find fault with is having to pay £70 booking fee when I booked it in one go so felt one booking fee should have surfisedand that has put us off booking with again"
    Mr Mark Ruddock, Bordon, Hampshire
"We liked being near a beautiful beach and the lovely warm and friendly people."
Miss Jill Buchanan, Rotherham, South Yorkshire

"This is a lovely, quirky little cottage set back in a quiet corner off the main road. However, it is very handy for the shops, beach and pub. Spotlessly clean and well equipped, all you want for a lovely relaxing holiday."
    Mr Gilbert, Sturminster Newton, Dorset
"Great cottage, very cosy and homely. Great location 5 minutes walk for the beach. Very close to local shops and great pubs and fish and chip shop. Will definitely stay again the next time we are visiting the North East."
    Mrs Mortimer, Bradford, West Yorkshire
"We holiday in Saltburn at least twice a year at this owners other property Victoria Cottage. This was a last minute extra holiday and we wondered how this cottage would compare. We were delighted with the comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated cottage which was equally cosy and welcoming. It was nice to be away from the main road and the neighbours were very friendly. It was also ideally located for shops, beach and the pub!"
