About this property

… in the heart of Turnchapel, a row back from the water’s edge and behind L151, an 18th cent. three-storey cottage, one of the village’s oldest, with wonderful views from upstairs over the marina (restaurant, Coast Path access) with Plymouth Sound and the Hoe beyond. Renovated and made private from the owners' attached annexe, with its own entrance and enclosed garden with terrace (table/chairs, barbecue) and lawn. Water access beside cottage (narrow, steep lane down); pebbly foreshore/slipway for paddling/dinghy launching, 100 yards.

Inside, fresh seaside colours, pine floors (rugs). From side lane, high gate to garden and step up to front door to porch; hall; living room (TV/DVD) with electric 'living flame' fire; kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob/electric oven). Stairs (stairgates) to first floor and two light bedrooms – a double with TV and village views and a twin (day beds, water views), both with door to a bathroom (suite, shower over bath). On the second floor, with the best views (telescope provided), attic double bedroom (zip-linked 6’ bed or twin, carpeted) with TV/DVD and en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower), both with sloping ceilings from apex beams (6′ height). Limited clothes-hanging space in bedrooms. A lovely waterside village with a friendly ‘time-forgotten’ feel.

  • Mr T Westwood

"Our holiday was exactly as expected, we got what we were told we would get and the children, the dogs and most importantly my wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break."

  • Melissa King

"A very well equipped home, perfect for anyone wanting good access to Plymouth without being in the middle of it. The little passenger ferry from Mountbatten to The Barbican was brilliant...free parking by it and half hourly departs... So much easier than going into town by car."

  • Holidaymaker

"This was a wonderfully well equipped cottage in a gorgeous location. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all mod cons. It is within easy reach of many attractions. The only downside was the parking - VERY limited and watch out for traffic wardens late at night!"
