This stylish cottage, moments from the banks of the Tamar River, is positioned in the village of Cargreen, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a short drive from Whitsand Bay and the South Coast’s beaches. Set over two floors, this cosy and contemporary cottage offers high-quality accommodation and a romantic retreat for couples. The ground floor sitting room has a woodburning stove, dining area with ultra-modern table and chairs and a well-equipped kitchen beyond this. On the first floor the vast bedroom gives a feeling of light and space with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and stripped floors. With views across the river from the bedroom, what better excuse for breakfast in bed? Plus, the spacious en-suite bathroom has a Victorian claw foot bath and double shower, fluffy towels, bathrobes and toiletries. The landscaped garden at the rear provides an alfresco dining area adjacent to the kitchen with steps up to a suntrap terrace with bistro table. The village has a good slipway, so bring a kayak or dinghy and explore the waters up the river to Calstock or down towards Plymouth Sound. If you prefer to stay on dry land, you can also fish off the quay. The Landulph Peninsula forms part of a World Heritage Site dotted with pretty villages plus fabulous walking and stunning riverside scenery. The South Coast beaches are within an easy drive - head to Whitsand Bay for three miles of sand and surf. Dartmoor National Park is on the doorstep for wonderful walks with four legged friends. Visit the good foodie pubs in Carkeel and Tideford or you may just opt to stock up at Waitrose in Saltash and barbecue! Ideal for coast and country pursuits, Quayside will be one to return to again and again.

The village of Cargreen occupies a very pretty waterside location on the banks of the River Tamar, four miles north of Saltash, in South East Cornwall. Cargreen has a sailing club wth a bar and a community book exchange in a disused telephone box, and there is a lovely friendly country pub, one mile away in the village of Botus Fleming. Cargreen is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
