"Perfect as a base to explore from or to stay in warm and cosy on a stormy day!"
    Mrs Mann ‐ 1 Aug 2019
" Would be handy if a stair gate was provided to help stop pets going upstairs and leaving the property as even though the building is stone we had to leave the front door open to create a breeze through the cottage. Towels. Tea towels. Travel cot. High chair. Fire guard. Hoover. Ironing board and iron. One packet of washing tablets. Tea. Milk. Sugar. Decent size cups. Cooking equipment all provided in the cottage. This cottage is very much in the middle of nowhere. Local traffic is holiday makers going in and out and tractors. Local pub open 11.00 till 22.00. Lots of pretty, hilly walks start in the village. "

" I didn’t rate my first night at well cottage very highly for several reasons. I have sent photos in of the stained carpets and walls, and I have had no response, I’ve even chased up my email and still had no response. The cottage is situated in a beautiful village, lots of hot water, but The carpets were badly stained The walls were marked and stained, or at least touch ups were the wrong colour paint No bleach, kitchen or bathroom cleaning product was left so I couldn’t clean the property during my stay Car parking space very limited when all of wetton cottages are full, had to park on the road, No stair gate to stop dogs from going upstairs No chopping board provided I have stayed in cheaper cottages and had a better experience so I know this isnt syke’s fault This is a Chatsworth owned cottage and as such, I would have expected something better from them, but I’ve not had any updates from , and I’ve asked for some form of goodwill gesture to compensate for this disappointing experience. That hasn’t been addressed either. You can publish my feedback if you want to, but I’m guessing you won’t. I will also leave very honest feedback about the cottage, if people’s expectations are managed better, then people will be less disappointed. "

" There was plenty of hot water and the bathroom well ventilated. The shower screen needs slight adjustment to prevent water spilling on the floor. It was a nice idea to provide games and jigsaws, and we enjoyed looking at the photos of renovation of the barn complex. The tray of tea, coffee, chocolate biscuits and milk were a nice touch. "
    Mrs Palmer ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" The area was beautiful too. We stayed for a long weekend but I would love to come for a week in the future. "

" Key collection was simple. Comfortable cottage with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Lovely location with plenty of local walks. Great to have been able to book a long weekend - Friday to Monday "
    Mr Rochelle ‐ 1 May 2018
" Area around the cottage was safe for children to play in, our grandchildren loved the freedom. The bedrooms had everything we needed, children (aged 5 and 7) slept beautifully and. Until 9.00 in the morning they were very cosy. Bathroom had full facilities, loads and loads of hot water at all times. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed - all pots and pans plates etc. There were a few children's games but mainly for older age group. Although I did take age appropriate toys etc. Food supplies can be easily fetched if you have a car. Nearby town of Ashbourne Has an aldi and sainsburys supermarket and lots of other shops available; The area surrounding the cottage held lots of fun and adventure for our grandchildren they adored it and didn't want to come home. The only thing that we found uncomfortable was the heat in the cottage it was so warm. BUT There were portable fans in each room which we used and found them to be quite adequate. I would definitely recommend cottages the arrangements were so easy and straight forward, throughout the whole process, this us a very professional company to deal with. Thank you , we loved it. "
    Mrs Buckland ‐ 1 Mar 2018
" There was plenty of hot water ,even warm water to wash muddy boots on the outside tap.The cottage was well placed for walking and exploring in the peak district. The village tea room were welcoming and reasonabley priced,The local pub was expensive for small portions but several good pubs in Hartington (3 miles ) or Hulme End ( 1mile ) The catering facilities in the cottage met our needs fully. A very enjoyable stay. "
    Mr Mcluckie ‐ 1 Feb 2018
" Great walks from the village although we found the walk to Thor cave too taxing on a frosty morning so drove down the hill to catch the Manifold way which was much easier with two large dogs avoiding stiles. Enjoyed the local pub which is dog friendly and serves great home made food. It became our second home. Internet in cottage was down, which was a shame. Apparently the routers in all cottages are linked and if one is accidentally unplugged they all go off. We will go back to Well cottage, it was a great find. "
    Miss Chaffey ‐ 1 Feb 2018
" If there is any feedback to be constructive then the curtains in the twin room are about an inch too short meaning the light floods in to the person sleeping on the bed next to it. Very trivial I’m relation to how nice it was. I had such a relaxing time I will definitely be rebooking. The milk in the fridge and tea/biscuits are a lovely touch :) Many thanks Sally and the gang "
    Mr Simnett
" We don't tend to repeat holiday destinations. The cottage was very comfortable for 2 people and would probably suit a family of 4. Not sure about 4 adults. Fairly limited in terms of kitchen equipment. Would have liked a filter coffee machine, but we brought our own so no real problem. The scissors didn't work at all. We left a note re this at the cottage. We had an excellent time. Slept really well! "
    Mr Turbitt, Midlothian
"A nice and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location, which was ideal for exploring this area of the Peak District."
    Mr Geoffrey Smallpeice, Southampton, Hampshire
"A lovely cottage which was cosy and peaceful, in excellent surroundings. Had a friendly welcome from the caretaker."
    Mrs Anthea Balmford, Southminster,
    "weather very good"
    Mr David Mcdermott, Dagenham,
""Cottage was lovely; so homely and very warm. Overall fantastic little place in gorgeous surroundings.""
