Producing good quality slow grown Herdwick meat available to order prior or during your stay. Situated in the Parish of Onecote just 4 miles from the Staffordshire town of Leek and a short drive to the spa town of Buxton. The property is accessed via a 3 quarter mile farm track with vibrant countryside views. The cottage with it's cosy and traditional interior is an attractive place for families, friends or couples to stay. A spacious sitting room offers a comforting place to relax with characteristic features throughout. Elevated by wooden beams and a stunning woodburner and stone fireplace, you will feel at home from morning through to the evening. An open plan farmhouse kitchen and dining area echoes a country feel and makes a heart warming place to prepare home-cooked meals and share quality time together whilst admiring the views that this room has to offer. Take the stairs and a magnificent super king-size double bedroom offers a soothing atmosphere with low lighting, shuttered windows and traditional pine furniture. For another touch of character a family bathroom with wooden beams and luxurious quality interior to enjoy a lovely soak after a day of exploring. The twin bedroom makes a calming environment to enjoy a good night's rest in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Outside to this beautiful barn is a stone flagged area, which is a great place to enjoy a barbecue or sit back and relax with your favourite drink and savour the countryside around you. Right on the doorstep are a network of footpaths with fantastic walks, and close by are cycle rides around this rugged countryside. Ideally located for climbers who wish to experience the crags of the Roaches Estate. Situated just four miles away is the historic town of Leek close to the southern edge of the Peak District National Park,. with its charming market place and antique delights. Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell are also easily reached from this property. Further afield lies Tatton Park, Styal Country Park, Gawsworth Hall, Chatsworth House, Lyme Park, Kedleston Hall and Calke Abbey. A great base to explore not only the Peak District but also the Staffordshire Moorlands. This is a secluded retreat in a lovely location.

The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by Moorland countryside. The town boasts a cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture. Today Leek offers a selection of shops, restaurants, a local park, leisure facilities and real ale pubs.

In snowy conditions you will need either snow socks, snow chains or a 4x4 vehicle.
