About this property

Tucked away off the beaten track, enveloped by an ancient woodland, on the fringes of Rudyard village, is this wonderful log cabin. Perfect for families and friends seeking some peace and quiet of the country, with an excellent situation for touring the Peak District, this superb lodge offers an alternative style in the heart of Staffordshire. For those who love to be outdoors, you will marvel at the natural wildlife surroundings along with the delightful character held within the cottage. The spacious light-filled open-plan living area boasts large windows offering panoramic views of the secluded grassland outside and the comfortable sofas face the TV. Aided by helpful appliances, to make you stay as comfy as possible, the neatly stored kitchen stands out immaculately with white units to counterbalance the all-wood interior. If you feel as though you are worn out by the fabulous walking opportunities around, step out on the private rear decking and re-invigorate in the marvellous hot tub, absorb the beautiful, quiet atmosphere and enjoy a drink in hand. Perhaps in the summer months you may like to eat alfresco, the outdoor furniture offers a wonderful spot to sit out. Relax in one of two pleasantly laid out bedrooms and enjoy the wet room facilities provided, should a person with limited mobility be staying along with you, there are handrails and even floors to assist. Just behind the wooded area outside are the shores of Rudyard Lake and just a five-minute walk away is Rudyard Hotel, offering a good selection of drinks and light snacks at the bar along with a delicious carvery. Enjoy the stunning Manifold Valley delighting walkers and cyclists alike with lovely routes to take on the Manifold Trail. Also, Alton Towers Theme Park is 15 miles away and the Peak District wildlife Park is just 5 miles away. This superb lodge is just what you need to get away-from-it-all.

The village of Rudyard enjoys a countryside location. A certain Lockwood Kipling and his fiancée Alice Macdonald met on the shores of the lake and named their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling (1865 – 1936), poet, novelist and short story writer has made this Staffordshire village world famous. The lake is one of the most romantic places in Britain, is a family centre for picnics, boating, walking and fishing as well as the steam railway. Nearby Leek offers good pubs and restaurants and many antique shops. Nearby the Manifold Valley is a delight for both walkers and cyclists with the "Manifold Trail".
