"The owners of the property were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The property was ideal for my needs and we had a wonderful time. The only improvement I would suggest is to improve the road surface into the properties as this is very uneven and full of potholes."

"A comfortable barn in a beautiful, tranquil location - well suited to large family groups, with generous space for dining and lounging. Our party of adults and children enjoyed visiting local places of interest including the Roaches, the Tittesworth Reservoir and Buxton. The local pub, the Lazy Trout, has friendly service and good food and is a short walk away. For those who find it hard to disconnect, the wifi and mobile reception were not great, but this didn't bother us. Recommended."

"A very enjoyable week in excellent accommodation and surroundings. Probably the best we have stayed in as a family."
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, January 2013 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Perfect location for exploring the surrounding area, within sight of The Roaches; Reservoir, Adventure Playground and good food served at the Lazy Trout Pub, all within walking distance. The cottage was ideal for our family of 12 ranging from 18mths to over 60! A warm welcome was given by the owners, nothing was too much trouble, everything we needed was availble. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend, celebrating a 40th Birthday, even the weather was on our side!"
    - Mr Alazmi, July 2017 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
    "Great place and nice atmosphere."
    - Mr Anstock, May 2017 ‐ 20 Jul 2017

"We stayed at S6973 for a family get together and we were very impressed when we arrived. The photos do not do this place justice. The house itself was a perfect size for our party of 9 though more people could have fitted in without a squash. It was spotlessly clean and the underfloor heating kept us lovely and warm. It has been maintained and decorated to a high standard with little extras to make it feel more homely. It is one of three converted barns situated in a courtyard. The other thing I wanted to mention was how helpful Susan (I'm sorry if I've got your name wrong),the lady who owns it was. Offering to help us to arrange things while we were there. The barn itself is in a great location for visiting Leek and it is possible to walk or drive to a beautiful reservoir that is nearby. There is also a pub only a 5 minute walk away which we were told does excellent food. It had a lovely atmosphere. Overall I can't recommend this place enough. Thanks for a memorable stay!"
    - Miss Fenwick, October 2016 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"An absolutely amazing place to stay! We wanted to have somewhere that could not only sleep 10 people but that also had the living space for 10 people to relax / eat meals together [a lot of places lack this], but at S6973 we found the perfect balance of bedrooms vs living space. The house was gorgeous, clean and beautifully designed, with a well-kitted-out kitchen, spacious bedrooms [most with en-suite], and the most welcomed feature of underfloor heating! Location suited us perfectly - great for the local pub, for walks around the reservoir, and short car journeys to Leek and Buxton. Would definitely want to visit again!"
    - Mr Hoodless, October 2016 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"A good family holiday with grandparents, children and grandchildren was had by all, and with an excellent local pub (The Lazy Trout) just 5 minutes away."
    - Miss Iwnicki, October 2016 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Everything was excellent, the bookings team were so helpful, saved me some money by letting me book direct. Suzanne was lovely, and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a great weekend, thanks!"
    - Mrs Mason, October 2016 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Wonderful location, excellent views and fabulous walking. The owner was welcoming and very helpful. Perfect centre for a family or group holiday"
    - Mrs Breffit, August 2016 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Spacious comfortable cottage in quiet location allowed all the married members of the family plus spouses to be together for happy week with all 5 children & the doting grandparents.Huge sitting room, well-appointed kitchen with ample quality crockery, fine dining room plus opportunity to eat outside.Great bedrooms & bathrooms. Very friendly owner"
    - carole g, August 2014 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Superb location for walking, visiting Alton Towers, Buxton, Ashbourne, Potteries and Chatsworth (about 1 hr drive). Wonderful local scenery from S6973 and from the Roaches. Good pub within 5 min walk and walks round Tittersworth reservoir as well as children's playground and visitors cafe all in walking distance. Cycling too at the Manifold Valley track was enjoyed by the children and adults as it was safe and flat. Owner very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Some minor improvements perhaps - blackout blinds and curtains in bedrooms and more mirrors. A wonderful time was had by all the family despite the wide age range."
    - l-taylo, February 2014 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Lovely rural retreat, beautiful views, nice accommodation but lacking a few basic essentials. Great for groups or families , great base for walking the peaks etc."
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, October 2013 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"Lovely Cottage suited our big family (2 adults 9 children). Each cottage has its own Garden plus adjacent meadow for the kids to run around in. Great position for access to attractions and also so isolated. Great value for money. If you are lucky you will meet the chickens!!!"
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, October 2012 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"S6973 was, without doubt, the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in - and we've stayed in many! Our hostess was delightful and welcoming, the cottage spotless in every respect, well equipped and maintained to a very high standard. Beautiful location, close to a marvellous pub, The Lazy Trout, which served fabulous food and a beautiful reservoir with great amenities. Nothing at all to dislike - unless you count the weather, which was pretty grim!"
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, January 2011 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"We received a lovely friendly welcome on arrival from the owners. The cottage was well appointed and very clean, with lots of amenities and in a beautiful location. Plentiful parking space. We were able to walk to several local attractions including the village pub for some meals and Titesworh Water for walks etc. The views were magnificent. The facilities wre brilliant so we could cook our own meals and in this cold weather the house was so warm. ."
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, November 2010 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"S6973 Cottage was ideal for us - 6 adults, 2 children at school and a toddler. Plenty of space in the cottage as well as plenty of space in the garden area. Local pubs were good for food and beer and we made the trip up to the Roaches on 3 separate occasions - including a 10 mile walk from the cottage. The shops in Leek were easily found and we made good use of the Co-op. All of us - from Essex, Suffolk and Northumbria had good journeys to and from - so a great family holiday was had by all."
    - A FlipKey verified reviewer, December 2009 ‐ 20 Jul 2017
"We found the accomodation excellent with the owner ver welcoming and helpful. The facilities for our party which included two young children were ideal. The only critiscm we had that it was difficult to find in the dark and there should be a sign at the end of the lane leading to the property."
    Mr Rowley ‐ 1 Jul 2017
"Spacious enough to cope with 8 adults and 4 young children without falling over each other (and toys). Plenty of space outside for children to use up energy. Friendly helpful owner who responded promptly to a couple of requests."
    Mr Anstock

    Mrs Liz Nienaltowski, Waterlooville, Hampshire
"Everything about the cottage was perfect - excellent set up and very well equipped. Thank you for a lovely family holiday."
    Mrs Pamela Reading, Newport, Newport
"The location was excellent and the views of the Roaches were beautiful. There was walking from the door and plenty of opportunities for cycling, there were also several National Trust properties in the area, so overall something for everyone. The standard of the barn was also excellent and the owner was very kind and helpful. The area is spectacular but seems to be relatively unknown with beautiful lakes, hills and valleys. The stunning weather - every day a clear blue sky, just completed the whole experience perfectly."
    Mrs Sharon Hill, Milton Keynes,
"We had a lovely stay, the location was great and the cottage was lovely and a really good size for the 7 of us."
    Miss Glenys Skelhorne, Liverpool,

The standard of the accommodation was amazing, very peaceful location surrounded by spectacular views. We can't recommend the place enough and will definitely be returning!"
    Mr Neil Rawson, Leicester, Leicestershire
"I had to contact the owner prior to our break so we were made to feel very welcome before we had even arrived. The location and standard of accommodation were excellent. Within walking distance of Tittesworth Water and the start of some great walks. There are also a couple of good pubs and an award winning tearoom within easy reach of the barn. We were a group of eight friends, the barn is well equipped to accommodate families and children. We look forward to returning at some point in the future."
    Mrs Allum, Pudsey, West Yorkshire
"Great property. We were a group of 10 who stayed for a long weekend. The bedrooms were all very well decorated with en-suites and comfy beds. The kitchen was very well stocked with a gorgeous range oven and the living room was very comfortable. The underfloor heating was a godsend. We all loved the cottage and would come again. Local pub is a two minute walk away and the food was excellent."
    Mr Bugg, Bedford, Bedfordshire
"Location was excellent for travelling into the Peak District and also to the potteries of Stoke. Perfect accommodation for a large family."
    Mr Fernand, Bournemouth, Dorset

    Miss Taylor, Chorley, Lancashire
