"Very comfortable cottage good location for exploring the peak district."

"We had a lovely break in may 2017. Cottage was very well equipped and the kids loved the big grass area to play. Only negatives were the lighting in the kitchen was very poor, the upstairs bedroom was very musty (but ok after a good airing) and long way from any shops, but supermarkets in leek were excellent. Fantastic location to alton towers (15 min drive away) and white peak"

"This cottage has the enviable position of being completely detached, yet within easy traveling distance of nearby towns, attractions and scenery. The views directly through the windows of the cottage are charming and the little track up to it from the main road provides privacy and seclusion, which makes for a romantic setting. The cottage inside was comfortable and well equipped, it had a pleasant lounge with triple aspect windows, which allowed for sun to stream in any time of the day. The double bed was very comfortable and there was ample storage space; outside the track to the cottage was firm and the parking was excellent. We had a very pleasant holiday!"

"A lovely location, the cottage was welcoming with a much appreciated bottle of wine. As with old properties some damp was evident but did not affect us in any way. Heating via night storage and lounge fire was available if needed and off road parking excellent. Some taps in need of tlc but all functioning properly. All scrupulously clean and sanitary ware/cooker and other kitchen electricals fully functional. Very comfortable bed and we really appreciated being accommodated at such short notice. Thank you."

"Had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage which is ideally located to visit the beautiful Peak District and Staffordshire. The cottage very quaint and is situated in a rural setting, which was peaceful and beautiful. We loved our time here and would recommend it to family and friends. The only qualm I had was that there were cobwebs around all the windows on the inside and smelled a bit musty. Otherwise, it was clean and well equipped. We struggled with a local supermarket for everyday provisions and had to buy them on route or when visiting a larger town. We stayed for a short break of 4 nights but had to pay the full price for the week as it was peak season.Apart from that we had a great time."

"it has a wonderful location, and the layout of the property is great, but it just needs some tlc. Cracked crockery needs replacing, a new kettle, a new bedspread - a new showerhead! There is some damp being treated which was okay, but the place just needed an upgrade."

"Weather was excellent and we have visited several times before, so stay for specific reasons. The setting is very attractive, very rural, excellent for dogs especially well trained ones. Very close to great places to visit in Derbyshire and Staffs, both rural and urban. Private and a big open garden. Good walks and footpaths all very near. Very comfortable, and very warm cottage, very light, good shower room, good en suite : settee and carpets well used, which for us is fine but not pristine. Likewise the decor has aged, but very attractive and calming and fine for us."

"Tired living room furniture but on the whole, pleasant accommodation that was adequate for our needs."

"Perfect for 2 daughters, 1 dog and us. Easy access to Ilam Park, Dovedale and Ashbourne. Not far from Bakewell, Monyash etc. Strongly recommend for people with a dog."
    Jeannine
"Lovely cottage and grounds bit too close to main road but would stay again. Garden great for the dogs, though I had to make sure the Jack Russell did not wriggle through the fence. Not too far from all the places we wNted to visit. Definitely recommend this cottage."

"The cottage is lovely, although if you have to go to the toilet in the night you need to negotiate the spiral staircase. Everything is provided. Great care is needed when accessing the road from the driveway. June 2012."

"The cottage was pristine, cosy and welcoming. We deliberately booked a cottage in mid-January for a post-Christmas break to be spent relaxing indoors so the weather was of little consideration. Jan 2009."
