Leek is a hillside market town on the western side of The Peaks surrounded by Moorland landscape. The picturesque cobblestone market area and excellent Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris are reminders of the town's heyday as a silk production centre. Leek has several stores, including antique emporiums, restaurants, a park, and real ale pubs. Leek is near Three Shires Head, where Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire meet, Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House, and Gawsworth Hall, and Alton Towers.
