    About this property

This is a lovely barn conversion, located in Quarnford and Flash, the highest village in Britain, in the Peak District. Spacious throughout to provide a welcoming holiday home for a group of friends, or large family, this comfortable cottage is perfect for enjoying the stunning countryside in this part of the Peak District. The upside down configured accommodation features a traditional wood floor creating warmth and character throughout. The open living area of the cottage is positioned on the first floor, so you can take advantage of the lovely views over the beautiful local church and countryside this area has to offer. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for your culinary needs, with a large dining area that makes a great place for entertaining with family or friends, while the cosy sitting room and double bedroom with separate cloakroom means you can always escape to a quiet spot. The ground floor boasts three tastefully decorated bedrooms, two featuring an en-suite shower room. There’s also a modern fitted bathroom complete with shower and hand-held shower and a separate bath to enjoy a relaxing soak. From the ground floor you enter a private enclosed courtyard, which is ideal for cleaning off boots or muddy paws! Outside, a large lockable garage provides excellent secure bike storage and a garden with decking and lawned seating area makes a perfect spot for enjoying those sunny evenings. This rural location of Quarnford is a village in the Staffordshire Moorlands between Buxton and Leek in the Peak District and is situated in some of the most picturesque and unspoilt areas of the English countryside. There is a nearby pub and pony trekking is available from Northfield Farm, for wild moorland treks. The area is also notable for the weirdly shaped outcrops of gritstone and you can discover these on the many walks this magnificent area has to offer. The lovely market town of Buxton is nearby and for the thrill seekers, Alton Towers is just a short drive away. This peaceful, tranquil setting is a great base to enjoy time together in a lovely holiday accommodation, all year around.

Quarnford is a tiny village in the Staffordshire Moorlands district of the Peak District, between the market towns of Buxton and Leek. Quarnford is also part of the village of Flash, which, at 1518 ft above sea level, is the highest village in Britain. "Location of the cottage was ideal for walking, eating out and scenery."
    Ms Worlledge ‐ 1 Apr 2018
"Beds being the exception. We arrived to a really hot house and had to open windows to get to a toelerable temperature. The following two days we were cool and heating was impossible to adjust. So disappointing from that point of view. The layout was good and plenty of room for the 8 of us for our short stay"

"Fabulous cottage, met all our needs and was very warm & cosy!"
    Mr Joseph ‐ 1 Nov 2017
"That said I think it should be advertised as a 6+2 cottage rather than a proper 8 person. The upstairs double bedroom is a 'bolt on' to the lounge without wardrobe or cupboard space and the bathroom is downstairs. Admitted there is a utility room with a toilet in on the same floor and for a long weekend its OK but not ideal if you were staying longer. Overall though very nice and would visit again."

"It was a good location for visits to the rest of the Peak District. The only issue as a dog owner was that (although there was a small yard at the back) the garden was not secure. It’s also a shame that the owner of the farm has blocked most of the view with a row of trees. It was nice to walk down the road to see the views."

"Stayed here last summer and no idea why we forgot to leave feedback!! Perhaps it was because we came home feeling so relaxed! What a beautiful house. Extremely comfortable and spacious. Safely arranged for families with young children. Very modern utilities- everything you could possibly need has been thought of. Friendly pub is a 1 minute walk. Surrounding area is breathtaking (literally- if you’re a bit out of shape!) with great walking or cycling routes to follow. Although it gives a feeling of peace and solitude, it is also a good base for exploring this lovely area."

"Egg cups and some outdoor garden furniture for the garden."
    Mrs Westmoreland
"The facilities were fantastic; great showers and extremely comfy beds, a new dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. My son (10) loved the reclining armchairs and even said that he will buy one with his first wage packet! Be aware that the local pub is closed on a Monday and Tuesday! The location is good, approximately 7 miles from Buxton. We did a fantastic walk along the river, a short drive away, (using a map left in the cottage) with our children, where they relished the opportunities to explore caves and boulders."

"Modern, clean, good bike storage facilities. Having a number of showers and toilets was great and everything worked perfectly. All appliances were modern and worked which made it effortless. Great to have La-Z-Boy sofas and chairs to relax in and the kitchen was great, as was the communal table. You could imagine that staying there for Christmas with friends / family would be lovely as would sitting out on the decking in the summer watching the sunset."
    Mrs Mosley
"Very roomy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location and would definitely consider staying here again."
