The Rumblings 1 is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches like welcome packs. Its location is ideal for exploring the Peak District, with easy access to local attractions and walks. Guests appreciate the friendly owners and the cottage's cosy atmosphere, although some noted it is smaller than expected and the road can be noisy.
The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several guests noting it was very clean upon arrival. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as a dirty floor and a log burner needing cleaning, slightly lowering the score.
The location is frequently praised for its proximity to the Peak District and local amenities. However, some guests noted the nearby road can be noisy, and the lack of a garden or safe area for pets slightly impacts the score.
Guests find the beds super comfy and the cottage cosy, but some reported issues with the size of the TV and sofas, and noise from the road and neighbours. The lack of a garden also detracted from the overall comfort for some guests.
The cottage is well-equipped for a self-catering stay, with a wood burner and a welcome pack on arrival. However, guests have suggested improvements in maintenance, such as updating kitchen items and providing a larger TV.
Many guests mentioned thoughtful gestures like welcome packs with wine and snacks. While these are appreciated, it's important to note that such gifts are kind gestures and may not be a standard offering for every stay.

It was so peaceful, lovely walks right from the cottage and within easy access of the Peaks. The beds were comfortable, lots of hot water and a lovely log burner too for the evenings. The cottage is well equipped, we had everything we needed. Definitely would recommend and would love to return!

Great base to explore the Peak District. Only thing missing was a washing up bowl as it enables you to wash up easier.

We chose this area to access Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Mam Tor easily. It's a shame there is no direct yard or garden access (we did know this before booking), so I wouldn't visit in the summer as I like to have outside space but it was clean and functional for our Easter weekend as we were out all day and came back to sleep! We had a lovely welcome from the owners, and a starter pack including milk and wine!
