Guests say

Harebell Cottage is highly praised for its beautiful location in the Peak District, offering stunning views and direct access to local walks. Guests appreciate the high standard of the bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, and top-quality appliances. The property is described as warm, cosy, and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches like homemade cake and milk on arrival. While some guests desired more instructions for appliance use, the overall experience is one of comfort and luxury in a peaceful setting.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as very clean. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were found.

The location is consistently described as beautiful with fantastic views and convenient access to walks and local attractions. The only minor drawback mentioned is the busy road with minimal path/verge.

Comfort is highly rated, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy. One guest mentioned the lounge settee was not comfortable for their back, but this seems to be an isolated preference.

Facilities are generally praised for being high-tech and of high quality. However, some guests experienced difficulties with the TV and would have appreciated more instructions for using the appliances.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtfulness of the host, including welcome treats like cake and milk. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such gifts, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The property boasts a great location for exploring the Peak District National Park’s many beautiful walks and is an ideal setting for a couple or family looking for a base in this beautiful park of Derbyshire. Be welcomed into this pretty cottage, passing through a barn door and noticing the underfloor heating warming your feet as you make your way into the sitting room, a charming space warmed by a corner woodburning stove, ideal for nights in with a glass of your favourite beverage. The kitchen sports contemporary amenities, all tucked away into tasteful cupboards, and includes a Belfast sink and sitting area, making it a great space to cook and dine together. When sleep calls, head upstairs and discover two well presented bedrooms with beautiful en-suites, boasting contemporary décor and an opulent feel, with the option of a king-size with a walk-in shower or a king-size with a day bed and a free-standing bath and shower. On sunny days, make the most of the front and rear non-enclosed lawn, with a fire pit and furniture for guests to recline in and take in the countryside air. Curbar is a lovely village settled into the countryside of Derbyshire, offering a convenience store and a selection of eateries and pubs, with options including The Bridge Inn, The Derwentwater, and The Eating House. There are local walks at Curbar Edge, Birchen Edge, and Froggatt Edge, and guests can learn more about local history at the Eyam Museum. Spend an afternoon walking the grounds of Chatsworth House, before heading over to the bustling village of Bakewell, enjoying the cafés on offer, where you can indulge in a homemade Bakewell tart, or browse the independent stores on offer. The Peak District National Park is full of incredible walks for making the most of the beautiful scenery, so lace up your walking boots and enjoy the wildlife on offer. The sleepy village of Curbar lies just below Froggatt Edge and Curbar Gap in the heart of the Peak District National Park, just a stone’s throw from the National Trust owned Longshaw Estate and less than five miles from Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. This pretty village has a collection of Peak District Millstones, a pub, a craft shop and a gallery, and is a wonderful base for walks, climbing and mountain biking. The village of Baslow with shops, pubs and restaurants is only a mile away and a further range of amenities can be found in the market town of Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District and home to the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!). Haddon Hall is close by and Alton Towers Theme Park is also within easy touring distance meaning there is plenty to enjoy from Curbar.

We were a party of 2 couples and the layout was perfect for that as each bedroom had its own ensuite. Everything you could need was in the cottage. It is also very central to many peak district must see's. Thoroughly recommend
