About this property

A charming end-terrace stone cottage in the heart of the Peak District, Trotter’s Place is pet-friendly abode with a unique location in the village of Bradwell. With steep hillside surroundings and Bradwell Brook just outside your window, this ideal location means everything in the village is just an easy walk away with a view to match. Laid out over three floors, this quirky property has a private entrance around the back, plus you get a refreshing dual-aspect in the rooms on northeast side of the cottage. The ground floor houses the entrance hall, a kitchen/living/dining room with chairs and a sofa, TV, plus seated dining for four. The kitchen, while compact and bijou, has every mod-con at your convenience. French doors lead out to the public passage way and Bradwell Brook. This cottage has a deceptively large amount of sleeping space for a period property. Up the first flight of stairs to the first floor, you have a dual-aspect double bedroom and a large and modern family bathroom that houses a walk-in shower, separate bath, toilet and basin. Up the next flight of stairs are two further bedrooms; one double and one single with a stacker bed that be converted to a double, if you wish. Outside, near the main entrance is private, off-road parking for the entire building. One spot is designated for exclusive use of the cottage, with free parking 500 yards away. Also, the cottage has exclusive use of an unfenced patch that sits outside of the ground floor French doors, a fantastic place to sit and listen to the babbling brook with a beverage in hand. If the Peak District is on your radar, the location of Trotter’s Place can’t be rivalled. A convenient walk away is a play park for the kids, two pubs, a small market and an ice cream shop. About a half mile away are local restaurants to grab a meal. Just 12 miles away is the stately home Chatsworth House and Bakewell is only 10 miles by car. If you’re searching for a child and pet-friendly place to call home for a short break or a week away, Trotter’s Cottage is ideally located, quiet and oozes quaint village charm.

With dramatic cliffs between Bradwell Dale and the Hope Valley, Bradwell lies within the Peak National Park and is a pretty, traditional village. On the outskirts of the village is Bagshawe Cavern with 130 steep steps provoking memories of its mining past. It has had an interesting history from mines, to hat making and lead and cotton mills. Bradwell has a variety of shops and places to eat and is close to many other attractions in the area including Castleton with its Blue John Caverns and Hathersage with its connections to Robin Hood and Little John are places not to be missed. If the bright city lights are craved then Sheffield is within easy reach with a whole host of amenities. A great base for a fun packed holiday.

We had a weekend of very bad weather but thankfully the kids had plenty of games and toys to keep them occupied which was a massive life saver. Very clean and well thought out with all the family catered for. Would highly recommend
