"Lovely cottage with everything you would need for a comfortable, cosy stay. Bed incredibly comfortable in the double room. Bathroom clean and modern shabby chic. Enclosed back garden which was great for our two dogs. Living room cosy and comfortable only snag was the log burner which is actually a gas log burner look a like but didn't actually work, never the less still lovely and warm with the thermostat turned up high! Great local amenities include park opposite, Chinese at the end of the road, small ship and various pubs that serve food. Within a few miles drive there are some beautiful walks and sites to see. Jane was fabulous we had a cake and milk on arrival and a very warm welcome. Parking is on the road outside the property which gets pretty full during the weekend and during the week due to residents parking their cars."

"TheOnly draw back was local pub that let you bring dog in did not serve food every day. New pub opened but they only took bookings you could not just walk as they locked door even though people were in. It seemed they only wanted to attract a particular clientele."

"Excellent! Well equipped and fantastic location for those traveling with a dog as the park adjacent makes dog walking in early morning and evening a real pleasure. We even enjoyed a couple of the many videos provided."

"Lovely little homely cottage well placed for walks and shopping. Lovely host, provided all the basics to land and enjoy a cuppa and piece of carrot cake! Dogs loved it as did we. Very reasonably priced. Bit of outside noise but to be expected as big fireworks display in park directly opposite so lots of footfall going past. Our dogs usually bothered by fireworks but were so exhausted after reservoir walks and cosy cottage, managed to stay nice and relaxed. Lovely comfy furniture (beds and settees) and good supply of information on local facilities and walking."

"We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely quaint cottage it was exceptionally clean and well presented it had everything we needed and more, our dogs loved the park which was directly opposite. We chose this cottage as it was close to Stockport where our son is and found the trains ran very frequently to Manchester from the station in Glossop. We will definitely go back to this cottage as its in such a beautiful area with so many lovely walks and places to visit."

"This cottage, although snug, is one of the best appointed places we have stayed in and, which was important to us, very dog friendly. Location for the town of Glossop is perfect and pubs, shops, takeaways just a few minutes walk away. We had no problem in parking on the main road and always managed to park directly outside the cottage. The park opposite is well worth a walk around, but many places to visit just a drive away. The owner met us on arrival and was very friendly and after showing us a few things about the cottage left us to enjoy our break. Contact was made by text at the end of the break and all felt very normal and friendly. I would recommend this cottage without hesitation."

"Thoughtfully kitted out with everything you could need. Lots of good walks close by, beautiful scenery. Helpful information provided for days out with dog. Lyme Park well worth a visit. Surprise view, and doves tone. Napoli Italian restaurant in Glossop does lovely takeaways. Fosters fruit and veg store in chapel en le Frith, tasty sandwiches and cake. Peverils in Castleton, lovely pastries and cake as do Bridge bake house in Whaley bridge."

"Really enjoyed our stay first time in the Peak District. The cottage is good size, well equipped, clean, and in very good location for amenities and exploring the area. Having the park opposite was very handy for dog walking. Would like to return in not too distant future, albeit maybe bit later in year when bit more sun and less cloud !"

"We had a lovely stay at S16596 and Jane was a fantastic host, even picking us up from the garage after we broke down on the drive up! The cottage was well-equipped and well taken care of with everything we could have needed during our stay, Jane even left us a lovely carrot cake and pint of milk on arrival so we could have a much needed cup of tea! Glossop is a lovely town with plenty of nice restaurants and bakeries, I’d particularly recommend the Pico Lounge. It also has several supermarkets and a good value and fast train connection to Manchester. We’d love to visit again and hopefully next time we’d have better luck with our car!"

"Lovely cottage. On a particularly cold night it would have been good to have been able to use the fire in the lounge but otherwise we had a great stay."

"I am writing a book and wanted somewhere to be left alone. I have two small dogs. This house was just beautiful. Jane the owner left me some delicious goodies on arrival. Her style and eye for interior design was in keeping with this gorgeous place. The bed was comfy. The kitchen was better equipped than my own. Great cooker too. Safe garden for the dogs. A load of books and films to watch. Luxurious victorian style bathroom. The house is opposite the most magical park land and within walking distance to the lovely Glossop. A few minutes drive on you are on the top of the Dark Peak. A treasure. I am definetely going back hopefully this year. 10 out of 10. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. I was there for two weeks."
