    About this property

Nestled in the stunning and picturesque, Peak District National Park, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts.
This delightful semi-detached bungalow lies in an idyllic location, surrounded by the spectacular countryside of the White Peak and close to the owner’s home, offering an ‘away from it all’ holiday retreat and is perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors. There is an abundance of walking direct from the door, including to the sharp-edged limestone Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill, which as the remains of coral reefs are among the most remarkable sights of the area. The location of Booth Farm Cottage is approached by a winding road through stunning limestone scenery and open moorland, and yet whilst rural, is just 5 miles from the Peak Park centre of Buxton. Longnor Village with its quaint cobbled market square and traditional pubs is just a 10 minute drive, and the ever popular villages of Hartington, Bakewell, Eyam and Castleton are all easily reachable in around half an hour, as are the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Horse riding can be found nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 4¼ miles.

"Absolutely loved the cottage, loved how secluded it is which is exactly what we needed for our dog over the bonfire period, we didn't hear a single firework which was perfect! The only issues we found was very poor wifi, and the under floor heating only seemed to heat the porch and the twin bedroom, leaving the living room and kitchen feeling very cold even with the fire lit."

"Beautiful cottage in a stunning area. Will definitely recommend and will return"

"Loved the quiet, the hills around and friendly sheep! Home was comfy and we had a fire one night too, gorgeous!"
    Terry ‐ 25 Aug 2018
"Lovely location beautiful views very remote no mobile signal and limited WiFi but don’t let that put you off, there is a land line for emergencies and it’s great to switch off from the hussle and bussle of working life. If you want quality time with the family then this is the place for you. The duke is with in driving distance if you want a local pub with good food for a night out"

"Lovely breathtaking views from cottage, would be even better if the housing bit next to the cottage was tidied up a bit. Lovely spacious cottage, well equipped. Garden only secure for medium to large dogs. My Chihuahua's kept escaping between the bars and underneath! Cottage great location for access to main A roads. 10 mins either side."

"We booked this cottage for it's location and beautiful views and for this it did not disappoint. Although it does seem it's in the middle of nowhere, it's easy to get to and only 10minutes drive to Buxton and shops. There is another holiday cottage attached and next door a number of farm cottages where a few families live, so there is the comfort of others around you. It was very clean and comfortable and reasonably well equipped. It should not be advertised as having wifi however as it was pretty much non-existent for the whole week we were there. There is no mobile phone signal at all either, which my husband and I quite enjoyed however, having 3 teenagers with us and promising them wifi which they then didn't get, was not good! Comments in the visitors book show that this has been an ongoing issue for a while. This definitely wouldn't stop me staying there again as we loved it, but others need to know as it may be more of an issue for them. The information book is also a bit sparse. It includes helpful info about local doctors / vets etc and the owners contact details but some information on things like rubbish / recycling would be helpful. Also information on walks from the door, of which I'm sure there are many, but we were unsure where we could go at first - the first time we went out, we walked down a long track which came to a gate which appeared to just go into a private garden / house so we walked all the way back again!A note of caution for those with dogs - although there is an enclosed garden, the wall is not that high and our Border Terrier could have easily jumped over it (and would have loved to to get to the sheep just the other side!). He could easily fit through the gap at the end of the railings too so we couldn't let him out in the garden without him being on lead.Apologies if this all sounds a bit negative as we really did enjoy our week there and the cottage itself is lovely. We would definitely return, just maybe not with the dog and the teenagers!"

"I would have scored a 10 for comfort and equipment if the WiFi had worked. We specifically asked for this facility, but unfortunately the signal was very sporadic and on the odd occasion when we could connect it was only in the hall and not enough speed to even connect to the internet."

"A lovely cottage in a fantastic location"
    Halina ‐ 19 Jun 2018
"Fabulous cottage, great place to stay and the most stunning views around. Our family had a great time."
    Andrew ‐ 6 Jun 2018
"Really nice accommodation, in a rural setting, with fantastic views"
    steve ‐ 24 May 2018
"Never stay at a cottage twice so that is why I answered no to would I stay there again. Booth farm was to a good standard, spacious and remote. Minor problems: not enough crockery and front door hard to lock. Great location to discover all regions of the Peak District. Local amenities not important to us. We enjoyed our stay."
    Ann ‐ 28 Apr 2018
"Overall the cottage was good value for money and well maintained. It is well off the beaten track. There is another attached cottage for let as well. However, there are 2 or 3 other residential properties immediately adjacent to the cottages and plenty of comings & goings . Frequent visits by some large lorries into the early evening. It’s quite an ugly unkept area to the back.I’d say the price paid is a reflection of the location; it’s unlikely you’ll be spending much time during the day at the cottage but out enjoying the beautiful scenic countryside and long walks.Apart from the cooker (the cooker hood/extractor was very greasy) the cottage was immaculate."
    Paula ‐ 21 Apr 2018
"Lovely spacious cottage, well equipped didn't mind lack of WiFi like some, that's what we expected in a rural area, walks from the cottage door lovely stream you can walk to but the track is uneven for those with walking disabilities but my dogs & children loved the bridge & stream, cottage was lovely & warm & we didn't light the wood burner. The locals do bomb up & down the main entrance track where they should go slower,"
    Clive ‐ 21 Apr 2018
"Brilliant cottage in a stunning location, on a working farm with fantastic views but only 5 miles from Buxton"
    Brian ‐ 7 Apr 2018
"Lovely cottage difficult to find. Nothing around cottage, ideal for walkers and those just wanting to escape."
