About this property

A fantastic five bedroom, semi-detached stable conversion within walking distance of many independent shops and restaurants in Buxton, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. This delightful cottage has lots of sociable space making it ideal for a large family get together or group of ten friends. Inside this lovely cottage there is a well-equipped, modern kitchen with breakfast island, plus a large dining table, making it the perfect place for a hearty group breakfast or an evening banquet. From here step through to the utility room which is great for drying out walking kit and pooch. This leads on to a delightful garden room with comfy sofas and a living flame stove with double French windows, opening out to a beautiful deck with alfresco dining area. There is a further larger sitting room with very tasteful furniture, cushions and throws, which makes for a cosy night around the living flame stove, maybe watching a movie or just discussing the next day's plans. A glass door leads to the impressive entrance hall which has a further table and chairs, perfect for a little breakaway group or kiddie's playtime. At the end of a very full day, climb the stairs to the extremely comfortable, light and roomy bedrooms all finished to a high standard or maybe take a soak in the large corner bath to ease those aches and pains. Outside this attractive cottage there is a deck, along with a terraced area elevated over the beautiful garden and from here you can step over the little footbridge which crosses the babbling brook into a further graveled secret garden with more seating. Children (and adults for that matter) can run off steam by stepping through a gate straight on to a park with play area and football pitch. Tempted though you may be to enjoy your whole break in this delightful home from home, it would be a shame to miss out on the almost endless choice of things to do in the area. Buxton has a great array of eateries, bars, pubs and independent shops and the Opera House has a year-round programme of international stars and shows. Together with the Peak District National Park a very short hop away, there is something for everyone every day of the year.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House.

Everything was spotlessly clean. There was more than enough kitchen equipment and seating space. The lounge was great with a good TV. The whole house was warm and it was easy to turn up or down the radiators in each room. All the bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of towels and and bedding. All the showers worked properly. We enjoyed the garden room looking out at the lovely garden. We came up to the house in the awful wind and rain in October. The house owner very kindly rang us to let us know about the flooding in the area. She later texted us to check that we had arrive safely. What more could we ask for! PS Sorry for being late in completing a survey.

Buxton is a really nice town and there are lots of attractions both within and nearby in the Peak District.

Both the sleeping and living faciities were first class, impecably clean and well equiped. The kitchen was great and as far as equipment goes we wanted for nothing. The location was first class with regards to a short walk in to Buxton, ideal for shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. It was also central for some lovely walks and a short drive to beuty spots. We had three cars and off street parking was easy.
