    About this property

This charming, traditional terraced cottage sits in the heart of Wirksworth, offering welcoming accommodation for couples on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Enter directly into the sitting room, which is decorated in a lovely contemporary and comfortable style. This leads seamlessly into the kitchen, a very well equipped space complete with a little foldaway dining area where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast together before setting off for a day of exploration. From the kitchen, the traditional cottage stairs lead to up to a shower room and a surprisingly spacious double bedroom, which is cool and bright, providing a good night’s rest after a busy day. The lovely rear patio, accessed by just six steps from the kitchen, is a sunny spot with patio furniture and a barbecue, offering the opportunity to enjoy warm evenings with a glass of wine and an alfresco meal out in the fresh air. With the centre of Wirksworth and its unusual little shops ready to discover just a short walk away, why not head out for the evening to sample the array of restaurants and pubs? From Wirksworth, it's easy to enjoy the rest of the Derbyshire Dales, with a number of lovely walks very close by. Warmbrook Cottage offers a cosy little romantic retreat in a delightful destination.

Wirksworth is a small, charming market town situated just a few miles from Matlock. The town offers a leisure centre, an art deco cinema, a weekly and monthly farmers' market. Visitors will enjoy exploring the ancient “jitties” of the Puzzle Gardens, along with the Heritage Centre, as well as nearby Carsington Water, Black Rocks and the High Peak Trail. In all, Wirksworth is a great location for a varied holiday.

" We had read feedback previously so knew what to expect.Yes the road is noisy but it leads to wonderful town just up street. We loved Wirksworth. People who live there must be so proud of their home.We caught last week of the festival.wish we had been there for two weeks. So historic. The town hall had events on.Saw awesome group and girl singer too.Lots of shops, pubs and eateries.Gem of a church.People so friendly and helpful.Didnt have time to go on the local train but will next time. Was little confused with food left in freezer and cupboards and wasnt sure if we could use as didn't state other than the listed extras in manual but other than that all fine.Charles even kept us informed we could come earlier and when power problem for few hours. Many thanks "
    Mr Hall ‐ 1 Aug 2019
" Cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. Very cosy and comfortable. We found the bed to be very comfortable as was the sofa. The garden was not really a probelm for us as we spent most of the time exploring the local area. Great that it is pet friendly and very clear instructions to gain access. Would go back. "
    Mrs Cope ‐ 1 Aug 2019
" Having everything we needed being fully equipped. Nice touch leaving tea coffe sugar ers. They really need to get a new mattress for the bed it's really thin and can feel every spring in it . The sofa has seen better days and could do with either buying new or getting a much better second hand one. These 2 things met the cottage down . We left the night before schedule due the bed being so uncomfortable. Shame "

" The instructions from the owner were clear and easy to follow. In all I had a good break and was very comfortable. "
    Mrs Jackson ‐ 1 May 2019
" However the promised garden was a great disappointment. It was described as being accessed by six steps from the cottage kitchen. It was in fact behind the next door house. To reach the steps you had to cross a very untidy back yard and negotiate washing lines full of washing. The actual patio was scruffy and full of weeds and the Garden Furniture rusty and unusable. One of the reasons I picked this cottage was due to it having a private patio as we like to sit outside for a coffee before going out for the day.Another small point, the only sofa was extremely low and us oldies struggled to get up from it. "

" We had a warm welcome from Charles. Wirksworth is a very interesting historic town and worth visiting, it is also close to many interesting areas such as Black Rock, Carsington Water and Middleworth all good for walking for humans and dogs. "

    Mr Davison ‐ 1 Sep 2018
"Wonderful Cottage with a really comfortable bed. The road noise is annoying but if that does not bother you it is great."

"The accommodation had many extras we weren't expecting."
    Mrs Sheila Chadfield, Dunfermline, Fife
"The cottage was so comfortable and so well equipped especially with all the little extras supplied. Very warm which helped as it rained all the time we were there. Best self catering accommodation we have ever had. We will be trying to book again for our next visit in July."
Mr Matthew Baxter, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
"The location is fantastic, with lots of things to do and see nearby if you enjoy walking and being outdoors. The house is very nicely kept and the owners have put a lot of thought into making it nice."
