The village boasts some beautiful listed buildings, such as St Martin's Church and the locally famous octagonal Toll House and only Grade 1 listed Fish and Chip shop in Britain. Stoney Middleton High Street is famed for being

one of the steepest High Street's in the country! There's a lot to see and do in the surrounding area, such as a visit to Hathersage, with it's outdoor heated swimming pool and the elegant spa town of Buxton. For a more adventurous day out, why not explore the mysterious caverns of Castleton or a trip to Alton Towers for a great day out. This Derbyshire cottage is an ideal retreat for a great holiday at any time of the year.

The lovely village of Stoney Middleton is set between some spectacular Derbyshire scenery, with Middleton Dale just beyond and the fantastic Froggatt Edge close by. The village is surrounded by some of the prettiest countryside in the Peak District, including The Dale which provides some wonderful rock climbing, cycling and walks following the medieval packhorse track; known locally as Jacobs Ladder.

Couple of takeaways a short walk away. Several pubs within 30 minutes walks serving good food and dog friendly. Good walks straight from the cottage. Already booked a second visit.

Very comfortable - the master bedroom was so big. Nice pub in the village, and a great fish and chip shop. Only down-side was the parking but it wouldn’t put us off returning, and the information on the website does say there’s only road parking.
