Swallows Nest is a beautiful cottage created out of a mellow stone barn and hidden away in the sleepy little village of Sheldon. This is a near perfect location with breathtaking scenery all around, the river Wye splashing through Ashford - in - the Water down in the valley and the attractive market town of Bakewell but a few minutes drive away.

If ever there was a walker's paradise then this is it! Wander across to the Limestone Way and then out over the 'tops' of the Peak District. Turn the other way and the Monsal Trail will take you by the side of the river into Bakewell. Famed for its 'Puddings', fantastic market and riverside walk, it also has lots of interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and other attractions.

Whether you are off exploring the hills or perhaps visiting all Derbyshire's other attractions - Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bolsover's Castle, Sudbury's Childhood Museum, Chapel's owl and otter sanctuary, Matlock Bath's cable cars or the National Tramway Museum to name but a few - get back in time for a drink and meal in the Cock and Pullet in the village before a last glass under the stars in the cottage's secluded garden.

Cottage facilities.

A superb lounge with solid wood floor, glowing log burning stove, luxurious suite, dining table, T.V. and D.V.D. A quality fitted kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. An attractive, galleried double bedroom. A lovely bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included.(£15 p.w. charged extra Oct-April). There is a large private garden with furniture. Parking for one car is available together with lots of other spaces on the quiet lane outside. Pets and smoking are not permitted. The cottage is not suitable for young children because of the open staircase. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Short breaks are available November to March excluding Xmas and New Year (and during the rest of the year if the booking is within 14 days of the holiday).
