It's a short walk to the nearest pub, and just a mile away is the delightful Steeple Grange Light Railway. Chatsworth House is also a short drive away. Walks and cycle routes are in abundance in the Peak District National Park, or if the youngsters are looking for some more adventure, Gulliver’s Kingdom is just a three mile drive, and a 35 minute drive to Alton Towers. Duke's Park provides a comfortable and flexible base for a large family or group to explore the joys of the Peak District.

The former quarry and lead mining village of Middleton quietly nestles on a prominent hillside above the nearby towns of Wirksworth and Cromford, 6 miles from Matlock. The village is centred on a long main street which consists of two good pubs, before eventually winding its way down into nearby Wirksworth with a selection of shops and amenities.
