Once inside this lovely cottage you will find a cosy sitting room, a perfect place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Next to the sitting room is a light and airy kitchen/diner, which has all the appliances you need, and completing the ground floor is a convenient basin and WC. Upstairs on the first floor there are two charming bedrooms consisting of a king-size double benefiting from an en-suite shower room and a beautifully decorated double, along with a family bathroom. On the second floor there are a further two bedrooms, one twin and another king-size double which also offers lovely views of Riber Castle. Outside, to the front and side of the cottage is a large patio area with seating for ten and views looking towards Matlock hills, ideal spot for watching the world go by. A five minute walk will take you to the centre of the town which has a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. This part of Derbyshire has a rich heritage, with nearby Cromford being home to the Arkwright Mills and Crich, playing host to the National Tramway Museum. Matlock Bath is just a short drive away and is the base for the cable car leading to the Heights of Abraham, a sixty-acre hilltop country park and is also home to Gulliver’s Kingdom theme park. Walkers and mountain bikers will delight in the magnificent trails that abound in this part of the Peaks, whilst watersports enthusiasts are well-served by Carsington Water, which is just nine miles away. With the breathtaking views of the Peak District National Park together with the splendour of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, this lovely cottage is an ideal choice for a well-earned break whatever time of the year.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum.
