In here you will find plush sofas and a dining table and chairs making it an ideal room for relaxing after a family meal. Along the corridor are three en-suite double bedrooms, all with wonderful views. Location was stunning and the huge garden kept the kids happy to safely roam. Cottage was well equipped with cooking utensils and crockery. Really needs a washing machine on site (perhaps lose the freezer and have a shelf in the fridge) and when the weather was hot it was really unbearable in the cottage living room. Perhaps some fans or air con in that room. Needs some TLC around the cottage, floor boards uneven, hot water ran out each night when we were showering and some of the windows locks felt loose when opening. Some additional information, menus, days out etc for the local area would be beneficial. We had a great time and the cottage was in an ideal location for our needs. The above is just some minor areas for improvement which didn't detract from our stay.

30 degrees according to the thermometer. We had to open all the windows and French doors to cool it down. It is effectively a conservatory with no blinds or opening windows above to ameliorate the effects of the sun. This was at the end of April. Also there is NO washing machine available. When I asked Harriet she said the listing needs to be changed as the utility room is not suitable for use by guests (it is down some steps in a basement) On the plus side it was clean and nicely decorated with lovely bathrooms. The kitchen lacked salt and pepper and the only sharp knives were enormous! The patio could do with a sweep. The views are amazing and there are some nice walks in the area but you have to go at least half a mile down the road to access the path along the river Weir. It is disappointing that you can't walk round the grounds of Cressbrook Hall to facilitate access the the river path.

This year is exact opposite. On arriving we were advised we had been moved from Top spot to another. Question why advised issue with heating. Asked if compatible but on viewing found not the same and showers only no BATH. Were shown Top spot which appeared fine but had portable eclectic rads. running. Cottage was not ready or cleaned as we arrive but they did while we waited. They said would get heating fixed Monday/Tuesday. The Bath was essential to us so we decided to try. Then found patio doors leading to garden would not open with assistance eventually got open but could not lock and were difficult to open again. Spent Sunday night & Monday night but place felt damp. The only truly warm area was the stone floored Kitchen/Dinning area. left Tuesday AM very disappointed. We have a booking for next year with you now reviewing.
