Antique hunters are well catered for with the many fine stores at nearby Ashbourne, home to quaint cobbled streets and a variety of pubs and restaurants, whilst outdoor and watersports enthusiasts are spoilt for choice at nearby Carsington Water. With the thrills and spills of Alton Towers, the attractive market town of Bakewell and elegant Chatsworth House all within easy reach, this is a superb location to be enjoyed at any time of year.

The scattered little village of Clifton is set in the midst of some outstanding scenery towards the southern end of the Peak District National Park, one mile from Ashbourne. There are excellent opportunities for walking and cycling and Carsington Water has a host of water sports on offer. The Dove and Manifold Valleys are beautiful places to explore and for the adventurous and young at heart there is Alton Towers close by.
