The superbly appointed and luxuriously furnished manor house is the perfect getaway. Majestically set on the banks of the River Dove, the manor boasts amazing 360 degree views over the towering peaks of Thorpe Cloud and Bunster Hill. 

This extraordinary property also played host to George Eliot when she penned Adam Bede. Apart from adding a little luxury, nothing much has changed at this secluded location in the hundred or so years since.

Appleton Manor occupies an idyllic spot in the peaceful village of Mappleton, just a mile or so from the sophisticated shops and restaurants of Ashbourne, the gateway to the Derbyshire Peak District.  Your rooms look out over parkland down to the banks of the River Dove and over to the towering peaks of Thorpe Cloud and Bunster Hill. 

The Manor is within walking distance of the local pub which does excellent ales and home made food.  Guests can also walk to Ashbourne for sophisticated restaurants and designer shops.

Chatsworth and Alton Towers, as well as a host of other tourist attractions, are right on the doorstep.

Manor Interior
Appleton Manor offers three bedrooms; two with king size beds, one room with two single beds, all with luxury mattresses and cool Egyptian cotton bed linen. 
There is a large bathroom with a terrific view over Derbyshire. Guests can unwind in the roll top bath and large shower. Downstairs there is an additional shower room for guest convenience. 
There is a large country kitchen, exceptionally well-appointed, with window seat, bijou breakfast table and very useful utility room. 
Guests can relax in the huge, high ceilinged Georgian sitting room with original shutters and window seats, log burning stove, luxury wing backed chairs and large L shaped sofa. In addition there is are dining facilities for 6 guests.
