About this property

Located right next to the Forest Gin Distillery, engulfed by beautiful Cheshire countryside, is this well-appointed barn conversion. Set in the heart of Macclesfield Forest, with access to some fabulous walking country and ever changing landscape scenery, you can enjoy a healthy break with your loved one. This cottage is attached to the owner's home, with high vaulted ceilings, character details and a cosy feel throughout. The lounge boasts eclectic furnishings, warmed by a vibrant, red colour scheme and a woodburning stove. Those who enjoy a good read can choose from a selection of over 100 books in the large bookcase set against the far wall. A farmhouse style kitchen is well-appointed with a dining area and integrated fixtures, uplifted by the A framed exposed beams. The shower room is modern in design and serves the king-size bedroom. There are even two pull-out sofa beds in the lounge for two extra guests to use. To the exterior is off-road parking and a small courtyard area, suitable to let your dog out. There are some remarkable countryside views, with the nearest pub only a 10-minute walk away. The Forest Gin Distillery next door has a bar within the premises, which is open to the public most Tuesdays to Fridays between the hours of 1pm and 5pm. They also offer regular tours of the distillery at the weekends, but make sure you book in advance as the tickets sell out fast! Nearby you have the reservoirs of Trentabank and Ridgegate, providing the town of Macclesfield with natural drinking water, and there are many walking trails you can follow within the forest to marvel splendid scenery. Pay a visit to the nearby village of Wildboarclough and climb Shutlingsloe hill, or venture further into the Peak District National Park for further walking and other outdoors activities. There are many notable landmarks also worth a visit, including the spa town of Buxton. A lovely base to choose for your next holiday.

This woodland region lies on the western fringes of the Peak District, in Cheshire, and includes two reservoirs; Trentabank and Ridgegate, providing Macclesfield town with drinking water. The nearby villages are Langley, with its silk printing history and riverside location, and Wildboarclough situated at the foot of Shutlingsloe hill. Bird watching is popular at Trentabank Heronry, with a viewpoint and information board near to the Visitor Centre. Macclesfield town offers a gateway to the National Park, with many attractions, independent shops, restaurants, country pubs and coffee shops to enjoy.
