A superb, Grade II listed, semi-detached cottage, located outside the village of Lees, just fifteen minutes from the Peak District National Park. Originally workers’ cottages built in the 1600s, this well-presented holiday home retains traditional features such as exposed beams. Perfect for a family or group of friends, Knolls Farm Cottage has a large sitting room with a welcoming woodburning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in front of the smart TV. The dining room has enough seating for the whole group to enjoy hearty meals together, and afterwards the PlayStation will keep the children entertained. When it comes to preparing meals, you are spoilt for choice with two excellent kitchens, a cosy kitchen to the rear of the dining room and a larger kitchen with a range cooker accessed via the sitting room. From the sitting room, a set of stairs take you upstairs to two of the cottage’s bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a modern family bathroom. A second set of stairs from the dining room lead to the second family bathroom and the last two bedrooms, a king-size double and a double. To the outside of Knolls Farm Cottage you have an enclosed lawned garden to the front with a patio and seating area for you to enjoy alfresco dining in the summer evenings. The village of Lees has a selection of amenities including a local shop, pub and eateries. From the cottage you can access a path leading 12 miles to the Pennine Way, or take a shorter 3-mile walk to the Folly. The picturesque Peak District is just a short drive away, offering spectacular views and a variety of outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and horse riding. Children will love the nearby petting zoo, whilst a day trip to Manchester is a must. Park and ride the tram into the city centre and discover museums, galleries, theatre, shopping and excellent eateries. Knolls Farm Cottage is an excellent choice for a group holiday.

Greenfield is one of seven villages nestling amongst the 18,000 acres of moorland hills, open fields and valleys that comprise the Saddleworth area. Saddleworth has evolved into an attractive South Pennine and Peak District National Park area with breathtaking views and glorious stone-built buildings. Greenfield is a little village with a good range of amenities, and well placed to explore the South Pennine region. Greenfield has Saddleworth’s largest park in Churchill Playing Fields, which includes a skateboard park and tennis courts. It also has the canal marina and Saddleworth’s train station.
