About this property

This cosy semi-detached cottage is situated in the hamlet of Beal near a railway level crossing on the access road to Holy Island, making it the ideal holiday home for railway enthusiasts. With panoramic views of open fields, the property is ideal for a family who wish to explore this fascinating region. Offering two cosy bedrooms, there’s also a comfortable sitting room with a patio door and a kitchen with an adjacent dining area. To the front is a walled, gravelled patio area and to the rear a delightful summerhouse with comfortable sofas and a decked area with views over the open countryside. The tiny scattered hamlet of Beal boasts fantastic attractions with the popular tourist destination, The Barn at Beal, offering birdwatching, a great bar and restaurant, and a shop selling locally-grown produce. Fabulous walks and cycle routes are available from the doorstep as the cottage is situated on the Northumberland Coast Path, which runs through the hamlet and continues south along the delightful Heritage Coastline, or why not take a stroll along one of the endless golden beaches where seals and sea birds flourish? The causeway taking you to Holy Island is just a five-minute drive away, as is the A1, which will quickly whisk you away to the many delights of Northumberland including the castles at Bamburgh, Warkworth, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh. Edinburgh is also within travelling distance, as are Newcastle and Hadrian's Wall. This cottage is in an excellent position for discovering the delights of Northumberland at any time of year!

The tiny hamlet of Beal is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from Holy Island.

The changes made since we were there in October 2020 have made this even better. We'll definitely be back.
