    About this property

Set in the beautiful Tyne Valley countryside, North Tyne Cottage is located in the village of Warden near Hexham.

Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Well-equipped fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious and welcoming sitting room.

Situated in the little hamlet of Warden, this delightful stone-built cottage has been sensitively refurbished and decorated, with a high standard of fixtures and fittings throughout. Comfortable and well equipped, the cottage enjoys an enviable location in the village close to The Boatside Inn - a real draw for those who like to eat out or for parents looking for an evening out close to home. The cottage has two bedrooms, a fitted kitchen and dining area, and a large comfy living room. Fabulous salmon fishing is available on the North and South Tyne rivers and private fishing can be arranged with the owner.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

The village of Warden is close to the bustling market town of Hexham and visitors to the cottage shouldn't miss a visit to this pleasant country town. Hexham has plenty to recommend it including numerous antique shops and The Shambles in the market place. Venture further afield and you might find yourself pondering the lot of a Roman soldier (or a marauding Pict) at Hadrian's Wall. Medievalists should head to Hexham Abbey with its Saxon crypt or to Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Those who prefer more natural distractions can enjoy splendid local beaches or walking on Northumberland's Heritage coastline.

Highchair available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Large, shared gravelled patio area to front, with garden furniture and BBQ. On-site salmon fishing available - to check availability and book, please call Warden Fishing on 07506 978 093. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops in Hexham 3 miles, excellent pub and restaurant 1 min. Note: Due to the close proximity of the railway guests may experience some associated noise.

"The owners were so polite and helpful even asked if the trains were disturbing us, which they didn't ."
    Mr Yates ‐ 1 Apr 2018
" just a little remote from nearest shops. "
    Miss Nightingale ‐ 1 Mar 2018
" We tend to be out during the day and be in by 6ish. So we did hear them. The ground floor windows didn't shut as there was a problem with the handles. We noticed this due to the draught as it was cold when we stayed. We did tell the owners employee when we left so I would think that will be sorted. Accommodation was comfortable. Heating and hot water very good. Bed comfortable. "
    Mrs Pearce
"Wonderful time had. So much to do and see. The setting is beautiful and having the Boatside Inn next door was a real bonus."

"Cottage and location were ideal for sightseeing. Cottage was spotless and had everything we required. The Boatside Inn was friendly and the staff were very courteous. Food at the pub was good and plentiful. We visited the local sites as far as Alnwick and Durham and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of wonderful countryside surrounding Hexham. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wishing to visit Northumberland. Thank you Cottages."

"A spacious, comfortable and very relaxing cottage - probably the best self-catering cottage we have stayed in. We were made extremely welcome by the team at the Boatside Inn, which adjoins the cottage. The Inn had a good atmosphere and it was good to be able to eat there one evening."

"Very pleasant place to stay with a pub serving excellent food on your doorstep. Well placed for Newcastle, Durham and south Northumberland, but a bit far south for Berwick and Lindisfarne."
    Mrs Kidd, Hastings, Hawkes Bay
"The cottage was very well situated for country walks, yet only two miles away from the market town of Hexham with a good range of shops, cafes, weekly markets and historical sites. Lots to see and do. "

    Mr Schraut, Huenstetten,
"The situation and the environment were ideal for the reconnaissance of the area around the Hadrians Wall and the South of Scotland. The pub and its very good and varied kitchen allowed also comfortable evenings. One hardly noticed the passenger trains, only some goods trains. We may come back. "
Mrs Benobaid, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
"The hospitality of the owners and how friendly they were."
