Berwick is a lovely historic town with a proud heritage and steeped in so much history and fascinating architecture. The impressive Elizabethan fortifications are still in a very good state of preservation and one can stroll along these and enjoy lovely views over the estuary and out to sea. This is an excellent location for those seeking a holiday without the need to drive since Berwick is on the main east coast line, with excellent train and bus links. The city of Edinburgh is a stunning train ride away through wonderful countryside.
