This traditional cottage is set on the owner's working farm on a beautiful 400 acre estate in the Scottish Borders. Three colourful bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single room, provide a restful nights sleep after a long day out in the fresh country air. On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area and the sitting room has a lovely, warming open fire. To the front of the cottage there is a picnic bench, a great place to sit with a cuppa and watch the children play safely in the open countryside. Berwick is Englands most northerly town and changed hands 13 times whilst the English and the Scots fought for around 400 years for control of the Borders! The history is delightfully shown in the towns museum. Nowadays this small coastal town retains much of its charm, with quaint narrow streets enclosed within great Elizabethan walls, fortified with bastions, built against attacks in the 1500s and walks along these offer spectacular views over the coast and river estuary to Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island.
